SUMMARY:
The Project Manager (PM) will oversee daily commissioning and startup activities related to the ongoing construction activities in an industrial setting. The PM will work with the client’s Engineering and Plant Operations and Construction Services Departments to develop execution strategies and detailed plans to safely and efficiently execute the work to meet client, business, and project objectives. The PM will provide technical support, including plant operations, environmental health and safety, quality, innovation, financials, continuous improvement, and maintenance teams. The PM must be self-driven and possess leadership and management qualities; both are required to deliver projects successfully. As a leader, the PM must have effective communication skills to build consensus with project team members and stakeholders.
This is a full-time FLSA-exempt position. This position requires 40 work hours per week, with a 50/50 split between first and second shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pre-Construction Activities
- Understand customer-specific requirements and assist in preparing pre-installation analysis during project Design & Development.
- Creates and updates project schedules, phasing plans, and site logistics.
- Conducts pre-installation walkthroughs with equipment vendors and plant operations.
- Ensure that equipment, systems, and facilities meet design requirements.
- Construction Activities
- Attend project meetings; tracks project progress and provides weekly status updates of equipment installations.
- Coordinates work with customers and vendors; provides oversight and direction.
- Reviews and inputs all contractor submittal and equipment drawings.
- Reviews shop drawings and sends to architect and returns to trade contractor upon review.
- Keeps track of work hours, materials, equipment, and work progress through daily progress reports.
- Coordinates between construction installations and equipment installations with the construction management team.
- Manages startup schedule and coordinates with owners and construction management alike.
- Identifies, tracks and coordinates startup action items and punch lists associated with bringing equipment online.
- Reviews and inputs RFI’s send to appropriate parties (engineering, equipment vendors, owners) for review and return to trade contractor upon review.
- Compiles and submits CCDs as required.
- Participate in progress meetings by preparing meeting agendas and minutes with the ability to speak to startup and commissioning.
- Attends owner progress meetings and trade progress meetings.
- Keeps updated red line drawing set and project documentation.
- Identifies problems and generates potential action items and solutions.
- Manages an action item list to ensure tasks are completed.
- Distributes and communicates problems to proper parties.
- Verify that the equipment is installed correctly and functions properly.
- Oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Coordinate testing procedures.
- Create reports.
- Assist with technical issues.
- Safety Inspections
- Ensures site safety by reviewing procedure documents such as Safe Plans of Action (SPA).
- Addresses critical safety concerns arising in the work field.
- Issues hot work permits and checking hot work task areas for possible flammables and other altercations.
- Performs safety observation reports (SORs), hygienic construction site reviews, and safety inspection checklists.
- Performs tool and equipment inspection checks.
- Ensures abidance to owner safety rules and regulations.
- Schedules and coordinates recurring safety meetings.
- Determines and implements a corrective action plan when necessary.
- Ensure the commissioning procedures follow safety practices and policies.
- Quality Inspections
- Performs hygienic construction site reviews.
- Administers product quality inspections and addresses areas of concern.
- Performs material equipment and craftsmanship inspections.
- Ensures abidance to owner requirements.
- Addresses owner’s concerns and implements corrective solutions.
- Produce and manage daily reports around installations, quality and startup efforts.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure that the test documents are created and executed correctly.
- Post Construction Activities
- Pushes all activities towards completion to ensure that equipment startup meets owner production schedule.
- Compiles required project closeout documentation.
- Creates, distributes, and completes project punch list with owner, architect, and trades.
- Schedules and tracks owner training.
- Manages warranty items
Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Understands process, flow, and packaging experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (outlook, word, excel, MS Project, power point etc.)
- Must be familiar with estimating concepts and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. For Field positions, while performing this job, the employee must frequently inspect the project site and may be exposed to ongoing construction activities, vibrations, noise, and various outside weather conditions (in all seasons). Work environment involves moderate risks which may require safety precautions. The noise level in the work environment may range from quiet to loud. The proper use of Personnel Protective Equipment (including but not limited to safety boots, hardhat, and protective eyewear) is required on the jobsite.
