SUMMARY:
This client-facing position is responsible for following project management processes and procedures for medium to large-scale IT infrastructure projects. This includes gathering project teams, identifying needed resources, managing responsibilities, and developing requirements necessary for successful project completion. This includes working closely with all practical areas within IT and the business to coordinate processes that provide effective and timely results.
The IT Construction Asst. Project Mgr. applies intensive and diverse knowledge of project management principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields; makes decisions independently on technical and business problems and methods; and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions. The IT Asst. Project Manager must demonstrate the technical expertise and responsibility for interpreting, organizing, and executing highly advanced assignments. Supervises employees as necessary to complete projects. Typically, is responsible for projects or portions of projects $50 thousand to $2 million.
This position is a full-time FLSA position and requires a minimum of 40 hours a week. You will be able to work remote 40% of the time (Wednesday and Friday) and be expected to be in the office / onsite 60% of the time.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Become a key point of contact for customers during all project engagements.
- Set expectations and drive projects to conclusion with the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Manage medium to large-scale IT Infrastructure projects using strong facilitation skills, which includes supporting existing project management approaches, standards, processes, and metrics for IT projects.
- Develop project scope of work, base designs, objectives, detailed work plans, resource plans, budget, communications, and status reports.
- Manage project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and checking work efforts using strong facilitation skills on a continuous basis, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Manage all project resources, internal and external, and may include resources from IT and business, and external contractors.
- Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources accordingly to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to high-quality standards, and within scope.
- Develop project schedules including schedule concepts, constraints, items in appropriate level of detail, track schedule process,
- Work collaboratively with other functional areas in the development of project tasks and deliverables, ensuring the successful execution of projects
- Manage multiple projects at various stages of development concurrently
- Develop and perform presentations for the leadership team
- Validate financial forecasts and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
- Successfully promotes momentum, enthusiasm, and pride within the project team, contributing to a positive working environment.
- Financial controls of IT budgets.
- Routinely travel to Project Sites where work is in the planning or execution phases

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Project Management, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 2-5 years of equivalent IT project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Project Management principles and methodologies.
- Experience running complex IT project deliverables with many interdependencies and have a successful track record being a great partner within teams and across organizations in engineering, design, and leadership.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires extensive communication internally and externally through email, phone calls, and face-to-face meetings.
- Proactive and able to work under minimal direction at a detailed level
- Can coordinate multiple projects across multiple locations.
- Good at status reporting and updating internal reports.
- Running and managing meetings via Microsoft Teams
- Software knowledge: Office 365, Excel, Microsoft Project.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from client sites.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience with SAP
- Experience with scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Experience with Unifier
- Experience ProjectWise
- Experience with Clarity software

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
