SUMMARY:
The Senior Construction Manager (SCM) provides leadership, direction and oversight during all phases of construction on/and around multiple operational job sites. This is a multifaceted position with a wide range of responsibilities. The expectation of the SCM is to continually act in the best interest of CSM Group by establishing quality relationships with all CSM Construction Managers and proficiently executing the responsibilities of the Construction Manager's job functions and competencies. This position is established for the individual to act as the industry expert to aid and assist other CSM Construction Managers in all facets of construction, safety, and CSM procedures. The SCM will ensure that the client’s highest expectations are met on all projects they are involved with by assisting with delivering the project on time, within budget, and in a safe manner. In addition, the SCM will promote and advocate CSM culture and operational KPIs to establish a good working relationship on all job sites and amongst stakeholders.
This is a full-time FLSA non-exempt position. The position requires 40 work hours per week with the ability to work more if necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists Project Director in proposal development & PO requests.
- Processes cost issues between trades, architects, and clients for fair but firm outcomes for all parties.
- Supports the development of project execution strategies.
- Utilizes relationships with authorities having jurisdiction to assist in communication between project team and inspectors during project duration.
- Serves as primary contact for CMs staffing, budget, schedule, and quality issues concerns.
- Assists Project Team in site logistics planning to improve construction efficiency and productivity.
- Visits job site(s) to ensure project team is on target for success.
- Manges client relationships regarding upcoming work and onsite personnel.
- Aides in project proposal generation, CM services requests.
- Generates Bid Documents and Bid Review Documents for Procurement Activities.
- Participates in Post-Bid Interviews and Bid Meetings.
- Identifies resources/services and overall delivery needed for each project.
- Identifies personnel needs for each project and distributes project loads to the execution teams accordingly.
- Manages Project Change Control and advises Client of Potential Changes.
- Leads quality control inspections.
- Supports project execution (trade coordination, project schedule, labor overages, etc.)
- Ensures an expeditious closeout procedure.
- Ensures project team and owner has a seamless transition into new facility and with knowledge on operations and efficiencies of the new space.
- Professional Leadership and Business Development
- Provides professional guidance and mentoring to PM, CM, & PE’s.
- Meets with potential clients, architects, etc. to explain CSM services and approach.
- Participates in proposal development.
- Participates in interviews for potential work.
- Leads and mentors’ direct reports, helping them build teams, and leadership training.
- Trains new hires on CSM processes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- OSHA 30-hour Training & STSC Certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certified
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Construction Management position (with relative degree) or
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in lead Construction Management position (without relative degree)
- Good Manufacturing Process
- Lead & Asbestos Awareness
- Proficient training on utilizing jobsite related equipment
- Proficient utilization of all CSM Group management software and computer applications
- Understanding of client specific contractor work rules
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Microsoft Projects
- Proficient in CSM Group management software and computer applications
- RS Means and relative costing/estimating programs
- Relative construction and industry standard techniques and qualifications
VALUED, BUT NOT REQUIRED
- PMP Certification
- LEED Accreditation
- Continual education requirements are met, and certifications obtained are kept current
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related construction/engineering degree

While performing this job, the employee may be regularly required to drive to and from the jobsites/assigned locations, sit, walk, stand, talk, hear, and smell. A major portion of the employees’ tasks require extensive walking around the jobsite, including active construction areas. The employee is required to traverse uneven terrain and work from ladders, scaffolds, and other structures, as well as work at variable heights. The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle tools, controls, and for fine motor coordination like computer work. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. For Field positions, while performing this job, the employee must frequently inspect the project site and may be exposed to ongoing construction activities, vibrations, noise, and various outside weather conditions (in all seasons). Work environment involves moderate risks which may require safety precautions. The noise level in the work environment may range from quiet to loud. The proper use of Personnel Protective Equipment (including but not limited to safety boots, hardhat, and protective eyewear) is required on the jobsite.
