CSCI is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our clients Engineering Support Services program in Springfield, VA. This is a HYBRID position, reporting into the office 1x a week. Some travel is also required for this role (CONUS & OCONUS).
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise maintain and engineering a corporate, campus-wide CISCO LAN plant with Gigabit switching and routing to internal servers and external networks.
- Provide engineering support for agency enterprise network solutions.
- Support network engineering design and the implementation of technology refreshes across the entire enterprise, consisting of over two hundred sites.
- Planning, performing, and documenting laboratory assessments of hardware and software for both the classified and unclassified DISN Services to ensure proper connectivity and operations between the WAN, IOEE/IOSEE and DISA's NOCs.
- Ensuring interoperability between WAN, IOEE/IOSEE and DISN network equipment and services.
- Planning and tracking of implementation tasks.
- Creating necessary supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes and procedures.
- Monitoring and completion of assigned tasks, projects, work orders, incidents.
- Develops required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems.
Minimum Requirements
- 5 + years of progressive experience in LAN WAN engineering support, Network Administration, WAN Administration in unclassified and classified environments.
- Familiarity with Standard LAN/WAN protocols, BGP, MPLS and LDP in a service provider environment.
- Network design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Device configuration (multi-vendor environment).
- Wired, wireless, voice, and video technologies.
- Active Secret with SSBI or Top-Secret clearance
- Valid US Passport.
- Certifications: DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III (CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional
Preferred Skills
- Expertise with 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN and associated software and hardware equipment.
- Ability to manage multiple assigned projects and report status and implementation plans.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E)
- Preferred certifications include AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud+, Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE).
- Ability to obtain Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification.
- Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
- Possess motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
