Responsibilities
- Assist in the quarterly audited financial statement close for the DoD General Fund (GF).
- Oversee the preparation of accompanying notes and financial variance analyses.
- Respond to inquiries and requests for supplementary financial information from the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (OUSD) and Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
- Review manual adjustments, including account balance adjustments based on nonintegrated accounting source and legacy systems.
- Advise on the implementation of Federal Accounting Standard Advisory Board, US Treasury, Department of Defense, and Office of Management and Budget policy and accounting guidance.
- Conduct audited financial statement reviews with OUSD and DFAS management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Must have a Department of Defense Secret Clearance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Minimum 3 years of specific experience relative to DoD General Fund (GF) operations, accounting, and budget, including experience with the Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
- Familiarity with Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), OMB Circular A-11 and OMB Circular A-136.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Extensive experience in financial management and audit readiness, particularly within the Department of Defense.
- Experience with the General Fund, Working Capital Fund, and the implementation of SAP-based enterprise resource planning systems.
- Detailed oriented and self-starter.
- Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
- Possess motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
