Description

We are searching for an experienced hands-on IT Manager to join our team and help our company continue to grow!  We are looking for someone with 5 years of experience managing IT to lead the department.  This is an amazing opportunity to improve IT Policies, systems and procedures. This position is on-site M-F in Carol Stream, IL. 

  • Upgrade hardware as required including the installation of PC boards, hard drives, etc. and running set up utilities.
  • Assist department with computer system administration, including installation and configuration of software and hardware, connecting new users with network, and moving equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot network software and hardware problems and assist end users to resolve related problems and answer questions on computer application and network functions via the department’s helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Swap out components, computer peripherals, PCs, and network printers.
  • Maintain IT storage and server room and assure cleanliness and proper storage of equipment
  • Conduct physical inventory audits, including reconciliations, findings, and proposed changes to current processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of IT procurement, IT contracts and purchasing processes, workflows, and practices.
  • Install and upgrade software packages on PC’s
  • Upgrade Hardware on PC’s
  • Troubleshoot software applications, PC’s, printers, scanners, projectors, and peripheral devices
  • Set up new user ID/password logins, and reset passwords when necessary
  • Install software upgrades
  • Inventory Management
  • Provide Hardware and Software support and maintenance on multiple platforms including but not limited to Desktop Computers, Laptops, Thin Clients, network hardware and servers.
  • Track and update events in the trouble ticketing system in a clear and efficient manner.
  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Protects system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations.
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
Requirements:    
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems
  • 5+ years of related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of network and PC operating systems, current network hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Experience in ERP Operation and Support
  • Effective communication across departments
  • Experience in network administration and installation
