Job Title: Communication Project Manager (Seasonal/Contracted)

Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Thrift Store – Central

Reports to: Hope’s Closet General Manager

Status: Seasonal, non/exempt

Supervisory Role: N/A

Objective

The Seasonal/Contracted Communications Project Manager is a temporary position responsible for maintaining Hope’s Closet’s marketing and communications efforts during a staff leave. This role supports the execution of social media content, photography, digital advertising, email marketing, website updates, and promotional campaigns for retail sales and special events while advancing the mission and vision of Hope’s Closet.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage Hope's Closet social media platforms through content creation, scheduling, publishing and community engagement.
  • Capture and edit product, store and event photography for marketing and promotional use.
  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns for sales, events and seasonal initiatives.
  • Create, manage and monitor Meta advertising campaigns.
  • Develop and deploy email marketing campaigns supporting retail promotions and special events.
  • Update website event information and promotional content as needed.
  • Design, coordinate and order marketing collateral while maintaining Hope's Closet brand standards.
  • Manage marketing-related email communications and support additional promotional initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform various duties as required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Marketing, Communications, Photography, Graphic Design or related field preferred.
  • Experience managing social media platforms for a business, nonprofit, ministry or organization.
  • Experience creating content using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva and Meta Business Suite.
  • Proficiency in photography and basic photo editing via Lightroom.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and website content management preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Familiarity with Hope's Closet and The Church of Eleven22® mission and values preferred.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a seasonal/contracted part time position. Days and hours of work may vary on ministry needs. Approximately 15-20 hours of work per week.

The church has several big events, (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure The Hope’s Closet Team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment

This position offers a flexible work environment with the ability to complete some responsibilities remotely. However, regular on-site presence at Hope’s Closet locations is required to capture current product and store photography, provide event coverage, collaborate with store teams and maintain awareness of in-store promotions and operations.

A dedicated workspace will be available when working on-site, and photography equipment will be provided for business-related content creation. This role requires regular interaction with store leadership, staff, volunteers and customers to ensure marketing efforts accurately reflect the Hope’s Closet experience and support team collaboration.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry marketing materials and photography equipment as needed. The position may involve moving throughout store locations for content creation, event coverage and collaboration with store teams. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
