Job Title: Donations Lead - Arlington
Ministry/Department: Hope’s Closet Thrift Store—Arlington
Reports to: Assistant Manager of Donations
Status: Full-time, non-exempt
Supervisory Role: Yes, Donations Associates and serve staff
Objective
To support and lead daily donation operations while providing exceptional customer service, driving sales and serving as a minister of the gospel in order to fulfill the vision of The Church of Eleven22® and Hope's Closet®: a movement for all people to discover and deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities
- Minister of the gospel
- Share personal testimony and the gospel, actively care for and disciple staff and serve team members through relational engagement and recognition and pray with customers and serve staff
- Help create an inspiring team environment through participating and celebrating team goals and demonstrating a proactive work culture
- Assist in care and discipling staff and serve staff
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Drive sales by executing daily operations of inventory and providing excellent customer service to donors and customers
- Maintain organization in donations operations—processing area, donation door, warehouse side and stockroom
- Support in the customer experience department as needed
- Lead the team in the absence of the Assistant Manager—zoning staff, following up on daily duties, processing and replenishment
- Assist in recruitment and retention of serve staff
- Assist in training development, coordination and supervision of Hope's Closet donations associates and serve staff in operations, serving and ministry opportunities
- Discover training opportunities and collaborate with managers to provide coaching for team members
- Help lead and create an inspiring team environment through setting and celebrating team goals, casting vision and demonstrating a proactive work culture

Education and Experience
- One to two years of relevant work experience or volunteer hours, including retail or warehouse experience preferred
- Two to three years of management experience preferred
- High school diploma preferred
- Must have excellent driving record, as verified through the state Motor Vehicle Department
- Ability to be forklift certified (in–house certification available)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Assistant Store Manager—Donations. Workdays may vary based on the needs of the store and special events, and schedule flexibility is required. Weekend and holiday hours are a must to support the needs of the store.
The church has several big events (“All-Skates”) throughout the year to help further the mission of The Church of Eleven22 and Hope’s Closet. We encourage all staff to participate and serve at these events. The stores are closed during these events to ensure The Hope’s Closet team has the opportunity to participate in the spiritual formation of the church.

Work Environment
This role operates in a professional retail setting, including the sales floor and warehouse/stockroom areas, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The position involves regular use of cash registers, rolling racks, retail fixtures, furniture carts, ladders and dollies.
Physical Demands
Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for extended periods; bend, lift, grasp, reach, push and pull materials, navigate uneven surfaces, ladders and stairs and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
