OBJECTIVE
The Director of Real Estate Sales is responsible for driving mortgage lending growth through strategic leadership of both outside and inside sales teams. This role develops and executes go to market strategies, builds strong referral and community partnerships, leads product and program development, and uses data driven insights to optimize performance. The Director ensures a high performing sales culture that delivers exceptional member experiences while meeting production, profitability, and portfolio quality goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of mortgage sales management experience.
- 8–10 years of first mortgage origination experience.
- Demonstrated success leading both outside and inside sales teams.
- Experience developing sales dashboards, analyzing trends, and setting data driven goals.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, interagency guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship building skills.
- Models effective use of AI tools to enhance decisions, streamline processes, and drive innovation; guide adoption within the team while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance, and best practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop mortgage loan officers and inside sales representatives to achieve individual and team production goals.
- Establish a performance driven culture with clear expectations, accountability, and continuous coaching.
- Implement structured sales processes, call strategies, and lead management workflows.
- Support career development through training, mentoring, and skill building opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with realtors, builders, financial advisors, and community partners to drive referral based business.
- Represent the Credit Union at industry events and community functions to enhance brand visibility and generate new opportunities.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships within the Credit Union’s footprint to expand market reach and product awareness.
Go to Market Strategy & Product Development
- Design and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies for mortgage products, including segmentation, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop new mortgage products, pricing strategies, and member focused lending solutions.
- Partner with Marketing to create targeted acquisition and retention campaigns for both prospective and existing members.
- Ensure alignment between sales, marketing, underwriting, and operations to deliver a seamless member experience.
Inside Sales & Member Targeting
- Lead the inside sales function responsible for member outreach, lead conversion, pipeline follow up, and cross sell opportunities.
- Develop targeted member campaigns using internal data such as credit activity, deposit trends, life event triggers, and pre-qualification insights.
- Ensure coordinated communication and handoffs between inside and outside sales teams.
Sales Dashboards, Analytics & Goal Setting
- Develop and maintain real time sales dashboards to track production, conversion rates, pipeline health, referral source performance, and team KPIs.
- Analyze trends to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, and emerging market conditions.
- Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly sales goals based on data driven forecasting.
- Provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Portfolio, Pipeline & Compliance Oversight
- Monitor loan pipeline and portfolio performance to ensure alignment with strategic, financial, and risk management objectives.
- Evaluate credit and interest rate risk impacts and recommend adjustments to optimize portfolio mix.
- Ensure compliance with mortgage lending regulations, internal policies, and interagency guidelines.
- Support staff training on compliance, product knowledge, and industry best practices.
- Adhere to all organizational policies related to information security, privacy, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance, including completion of required training and protection of confidential information
