Position Responsibilities
Our Accounting and Finance team is at the forefront shaping strategic decisions across the company. As a member of the team, the Corporate Corporate Staff Accountant is responsible for accuracy of a variety of financial records. The responsibilities include invoicing, maintaining leases, fixed assets and financial records of the company through analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts, as well as preparing reports. A successful Corporate Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, knowledge of accounting principles, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Because CJ Logistics loves collaboration and a team environment, this is not a remote position. This role is located at our Corporate Office in Des Plaines, IL and requires that candidates can adhere to a hybrid work arrangement (3 days on site and 2 days remote). Candidates must live within a commutable distance to the corporate office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Responsible for recording, monitoring, maintaining and reconciling company’s fixed assets and leases
- Prepare supporting tax schedules for income and property tax returns
- Complete monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliation ensuring reconciling items are resolved promptly
- Work with Logistics Center personnel to validate data
- Analyze and review data required for invoicing
- Download data from various CJ systems into Excel
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal Logistics Center personnel and external customers through solid written and communication skills
- Issue, record and distribute invoices
- Input invoices into JD Edwards for revenue posting
- Participate in annual audit by updating preexisting schedules and completing analysis for ad-hoc requests
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- 2-3 years’ accounting experience
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Access, and general ledger applications
- ERP experience required and JD Edwards experience a plus
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong interactive and communication skills
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Work effectively in team environment to enhance team efficiency
- Ability to work under pressure and complete responsibilities within required deadlines
- High energy, self-motivated with initiative
