Job Overview:

As an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), you will deliver financial literacy training, one-on-one counseling, and group workshops in support of the Navy’s Personal Financial Management program. You will help families build resilience through sound financial practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver financial counseling, debt management, budgeting, and savings/investment education.
  • Conduct workshops, classes, and individualized sessions on financial literacy.
  • Maintain AFC credential and ensure services meet DoD and Navy standards.
  • Provide accurate documentation, reporting, and case management for financial services.
  • Assist Sailors and families in developing action plans to achieve financial stability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensure: Accredited Financial Counselor certification.
  • Experience: Experience delivering financial counseling or education programs.
  • Other: U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing financial education to military families.
  • Familiarity with DoD Personal Financial Management programs.

Compensation:

$60,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience and location.

Positions are contingent and will begin upon contract award.
