Job Title: Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA)
Location: Anchorage, AK (On-site)
Position Overview: The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) provides essential, non-clinical support to Air Force personnel, their families, or intimate partners who are victims of domestic abuse. This full-time role involves providing both emergent and urgent support, including after-hours telework, as needed. You’ll be part of a community-driven response to domestic abuse, assisting victims in exploring their options, establishing safety plans, and coordinating services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide confidential, non-clinical support to victims of domestic abuse (DA) during duty and after-hours.
- Empower victims to prioritize their needs, establish goals, and explore options for themselves and their children.
- Assist in developing and implementing victim safety plans in coordination with other on-call professionals.
- Accompany victims to appointments or court proceedings when requested.
- Collaborate with military and civilian resources, including Security Forces, the Office of Special Investigations (OSI), and Military Treatment Facilities (MTF) to ensure comprehensive victim care.
- Train personnel on DA protocols and continuously evaluate community responses to domestic abuse incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing advocacy services for domestic abuse or sexual assault victims.
- Must be available for on-call coverage and flexible scheduling.
Certification:
- Must obtain Basic Advocate Credential (https://www.thenacp.org/credentialing/) as a Comprehensive Intervention Specialist within six months of hire.
