Position Summary & Responsibilities:

This internship is anticipated to run from May - August 2025, working an average of 40 hours a week at our Durham location with an onsite requirement of 4-5 days a week. Relocation assistance is not available for this role. 

Provide administrative support to the Indirect Procurement Department based in Durham. Supporting buyers on data collection, market research, preparation of charts on PowerPoint, and any other administrative activities that will help Buyers prepare Category Sourcing Strategies, Sourcing Decision, Competitive Bids, Request for Quotation/proposal.

  • Provide administrative support to the Buyers, including a collection of data, market research, supplier communication, design and production of PowerPoint charts, Excel spreadsheets and graphs, Tableau reports, spend analysis and Visio Process maps.
  • Manage, by delegation, some purchasing files and tasks in a multicultural and international context, with interactions with external suppliers, peers at other US locations and/or France.
  • Maintain and update regularly various centralized purchasing files to include, but not limited to: Approved Supplier List, Purchasing Department SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), Purchasing Department Training Records, NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreements), contracts and required Supplier documentation like Iso certificates, diversity certificates, and others as needed.
  • Run and manage periodical reports: Tableau/SAP spend, Diversity Report, Ad hoc analysis.
  • Support buyers on researching the market regarding categories sourcing strategies, Sourcing decisions, market key players, market conditions.
  • Support buyers on identifying suppliers by category, classified as Diversity suppliers.
  • Assist buyers on keeping our Contract Management Tool accuracy, running reports, monitoring expired contracts or contracts to be expired.
  • Assist buyers on keeping our SAP and Jaggaer supplier data accuracy (Purchasing group, diversity classification, and others as needed).
  • Assist buyers on SSC (Supplier Steering Committee) Meetings minutes and action plan follow up.
  • Assist buyers on spend data analysis from the punchout catalogues, Supplier Panel management through data analytics (Spend, rationalization, optimization)

Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required and must be actively enrolled in an academic program/institution pursuing a degree.
    • Business or Supply Chain Management majors are preferred
  • Interpersonal and communication skills required due to frequent interaction with suppliers, stakeholders and peers.
  • Interest in Purchasing/Procurement and supply chain
  • Intercultural skills and inclination for data analytics
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Computer literacy and IT skills (SAP, Eproc, Excel, Outlook, LL…)
