Position Summary:
The Director of Revenue accounting leads all aspects of revenue accounting, corporate contract management, and reporting, including the oversight of the revenue recognition process as it relates to GAAP and IFRS. Provides strategic insights to Commercial leadership as a Finance business partner. Responsible for leading customer location management and Contracts & Pricing teams for Commercial Operations for IDN and GPO contracts. Directly supports sales leadership, territory managers, and commercial operations with analysis and reporting needs. Responsible for all contract compliance management and reporting including working with the field and internal teams to monitor.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy quality procedures and standards.
- Oversee and manage the revenue recognition and reporting process, ensuring compliance with IFRS 15/16 and ASC 606, and other relevant accounting standards, regulations, and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain financial models for pricing and customer profitability, providing strategic insights and recommendations for optimizing financial performance to executive management team.
- Manages the month-end financial close and reporting for Revenue, Distributor Margin Adjustments, Rebates, Royalties, lessor accounting, contracts compliance, warranty recognition, warranty provisions, and COGS for US Commercial Operations.
- Designs and implements processes, tools, and internal controls to manage financial risks in pricing, customer quotes, and contracts.
- Management of delinquent leases, return of equipment, and contracted volume shortfall analysis.
- Ensure accurate application of IFRS 15 as it relates to 2 of the 9 entities in the US.
- Management and enhancement of the pricing tool.
- Review and management of the quoting process for IDN and GPO customers.
- Provide guidance and support to the business by ensuring financial tools are utilized and internal controls and accounting processes are understood and followed.
- Finance project lead for SAP ERP, Salesforce CRM, and Salesforce CPQ implementations and enhancements.
- Responsible for accuracy and compliance of Installed Base, including cycle counts and physical verification of equipment and impairment reviews.
- Responsible for annual Clinical Installed Base budget and Strategic Planning process as well as customer pricing inputs required for ASP budgeting.
- Manage the revenue accounting for all SAAS and Service contract records and related billing plans for manufacturer’s warranty, extended warranties, and service contracts in SAP timely and accurately.
- Oversees quarterly Reagent Purchase Agreements for all customers and associated reporting is communicated to the sales leadership and follow up on action items.
- Ensures accurate analysis and reporting for all acquisition method agreements commitment compliance.
- Responsible for analysis of profitability on customer contract and pricing proposals.
- Ensures accurate customer pricing & hierarchies are maintained in SAP by overseeing regular data review and cleansing activities. Responsible for creating and maintaining KPI’s, revenue analysis, reports, dashboards, and models leveraging data warehouse and BI tools.
- Knowledge and ability to serve as an expert and educational resource on healthcare strategy issues.
- Mentor, supervise and develop members of the accounting and finance team to ensure a high level of efficiency and expertise.
- Responsible for managing internal and external audits for revenue recognition and other areas under scope of the team.
- Ability to convert data to understandable and explainable format including slide preparation for the business.
- Performs ad hoc analysis and assignments as needed.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 8 + years’ experience in the Accounting, Finance, or related field and 6+ years in a leadership capacity with a diverse finance, accounting or related team.
- CPA or Master’s degree preferred
- Previous revenue oversight of at least $100M with multiple locations.
- Preferred 3+ years overseeing revenue accounting in a complex environment including capital and operating leases
- Preferred 3+ years working experience with IFRS 15
- Preferred 5+ years experience with major ERP system , SAP preferred
- Experience working in SAP ERP, SAP SAC, AFO, Tableau or similar financial systems and tool.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with a demonstrated ability to translate technical financial information in a concise way. Ability to tailor communication to different individuals, ensuring clarity and relevance.
- Ability to manage and deliver projects on time and accurately.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational skills in project management to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Must contain high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
- Highly advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Advanced conceptual skills; strong working knowledge of GAAP, with a preference given to those with a public accounting background.
- Must have strong process improvement skills and act as a change agent. Proactive approach to analyzing information, creating processes, and diving into resolve situations.
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; and other related business reporting tools.
- Proven leadership skills to coach and lead teams to fully deliver objectives and other requested deliverables.
- High standards of professional and ethical conduct.
- Not above “rolling-up-the-sleeves” to do the tedious legwork necessary for getting to remarkable outcomes.
