The estimated salary range for this role based in California is between $147,100 and $176,500 annually. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.

THE COMPANY

The world is facing a medical crisis, bacteria are increasingly evolving resistance to even our strongest antibiotics. The problem is already very real and immediate; for example, bloodstream infection leading to sepsis is now responsible for more than half of all deaths in hospitals and is the most expensive condition treated in hospitals. Sepsis mortality rate increases >6% every hour without effective antibiotic treatment. Yet, despite the life and death urgency, and healthcare cost impacts, current methodologies require 3 days to determine the correct antibiotic.

Specific Diagnostics, a bioMerieux company, has developed a breakthrough solution to rapidly determine the effective antibiotic treatment for bloodstream and other acute infections. Used for bloodstream infection Specific’s solution provides results 2 days sooner (1 day vs 3 days).

THE JOB 

• The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for the overall project management function for the operations. 
• Plan and direct the activities necessary to support operations and continuously improve all functions on the site.  Ensure that projects are managed, tracked and reported.
• Maintain and manage an active and balanced portfolio of projects that includes design transfer, manufacturing scaling, quality improvements, process improvements, cost reductions, securitization, and compliance improvements.
• Position is responsible for managing key projects for the site operations, collaborating or guiding other project managers or contributors who are assigned to the projects or as key stakeholders.
• Manage projects arising from production, eliminate backorders and build quality products while maintaining morale.                                                                                                                 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES  

Project Management

1. Work with all other departments and maintain a high degree of cooperation. Assist in identification and prioritization of site projects
2. Lead and monitor multiple projects throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Knowledge of company’s quality system.
4. Presentation skills suitable for project and budget reviews.
5. Manage Projects efficiently to successful completion under quality management requirement
6. Motivate others to accomplish tasks without direct supervision
7. Able to write, revise, and present change notifications, change orders, protocols and reports, work instruction documents, standard operating procedures, qualifications, product specifications, and verification and validation plan

 Participate in strategic planning.

1. Participate in strategic planning sessions.
2. Develop, maintain and revise operation project plan portfolio 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific or engineering field. Significant related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. MS Preferred. 
2. Minimum of 12 years cross functional project management experience
3. 8 or more years of experience in ISO13485 and/or cGMP/cGLP compliant environments, including manufacturing, medical device, or regulated environments, are preferred
4. Relevant MBA and/or PMP Certification from PMI a plus
5. Planning: An ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-3 year time span.
6. Management: The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
7. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
8. Technical skills in lean manufacturing techniques, process improvement, and materials management.
9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
