Position Summary:
Create Great Guest Memories for carry out experience. This includes taking orders by phone,
tablet, e-mail, rails, walk-in and has ability to answer questions and suggest. Process
transactions via POS accurately and timely. Assemble and pack orders as per Benihana
Packaging Guidelines. Organize and maintain spotless area for Takeout/Delivery staging areas.
Reconcile all orders at the end of each shifts.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
 Greets all guests warmly and with a smile upon their arrival.
 Promptly answers the phones with appropriate greeting and assist guests with orders.
 Maintains a clean and organized station. Ensures the cleanliness of POS, printers, phone,
counters, and keeps necessary stock of packaging materials, menus and other supplies.
 Ensure that all devices such as tablets are functional and online during operating hours and
be ready to accept orders.
 Follow takeout/delivery packaging guidelines to ensure consistent guest experience.
 Responds to guest inquiries related to operating hours, prices, menus and directions to
restaurant.
 Maintains constant communications with fellow employees to ensure smooth operations.
 Liaise with Third Party Delivery partners.
 Ensures backup coverage for host when necessary.
 Completes all side work requirements prior, during and after shift.
 Follow proper cash handling and house account reconciliation.
 Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Skills/Knowledge:
 Excellent communication skills.
 Knowledge of Aloha POS or similar and tablet is a plus.
Education/Experience:

 Must have a High School diploma or GED.
 Previous host/cashier experience in restaurant or hospitality is a plus.

desirable.
Communication: Must possess good verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Must be
able to communicate and understand guests’ and colleagues’ instructions, read and understand
written directives and be able to clearly communicate if s/he requires further direction. Must be
able to interpret nonverbal cues in an effort to identify and correct potential problems. Must be
able to effectively communicate in English.
Interpersonal Relationships: Ability to adapt and interact with a diverse group of people.
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member’s
role in the guest dining experience.
Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to work under stress, have excellent organizational skills and multi-task throughout
shift. Must have a clean, professional appearance with excellent grooming habits.
Food Knowledge, Preparation, Production and Safety: Must be able to learn and describe
menu items to guests when requested.
Problem Solving and Conflict Management: Must exercise sound judgment and possess
good problem-solving skills. Must have the ability to recognize and resolve problems in an
appropriate manner. Must have basic math skills.
Shift Flexibility: Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
