Shift: M-F 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for supervising, planning, and controlling all laboratory operations and personnel in the Anatomic Pathology (Cytology Processing, Histology and Medical Transcription) Laboratory sections to ensure patient specimens and information are processed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner. This individual is also responsible for General Supervision (technical and scientific oversight) for these specialty areas. This individual is always accessible to the laboratories, either on site or by telephone. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic Healthcare systems while performing all job functions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 12 semester hours in biology and chemistry 

-OR-

At least 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university with a combination of 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry AND 1 year of documented, acceptable experience in histopathology within the last 10 years under the supervision of a pathologist.

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry AND one year of acceptable experience in histopathology within the last 10 years under the supervision of a pathologist

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology and chemistry and successful completion of an approved Histotechnician program.

High School diploma or equivalent and at least 6 semester hours (9 quarter hours) of academic credit from an accredited college or university in some type of clinical laboratory relevant science (examples would include any of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences) and successful completion of an approved Histotechnician program.

Registration: HT or HTL ASCP or equivalent registration preferred
