Supervisor Broadcast Support
 
Al Jazeera Media Network are current looking to hire an experienced Supervisor ‐ Broadcast Support who will be responsible for ensuring that ON AIR programs as well services are provided with the highest availability and quality by managing activities of broadcast staff during shift acting as Shift in-charge.
 
As the Broadcast Support Supervisor you will also be responsible for availability, quality of services and systems performance within TV Station/s Facilities and Systems to continue meet industry standards in addition to supervise a group of Engineers and Technicians to deliver materials requisitions as well as overseeing the planning and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as Shift in‐charge to manage activities of broadcast staff during shifts 
  • Work on providing the contingency procedures/plans to ensure systems reliability, redundancy and availability for seamless Broadcast operations. 
  • Oversee and allocate resources for the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all systems and facilities 
  • Provide leadership in ON AIR environment for all media production equipment and services under the Broadcast Systems section. 
  • Document and report all required feedback including; weekly performance, challenges and weaknesses, needs and Requirements, reports requested by management, progress status and updates of all maintenance and support activities, and escalate any issues that need management support. 
  • Coordinate with other sections, for smooth daily operations and escalate ON-AIR effecting issues to the management 
  • Participate in the study of bidders' Proposals and performance of Technical Evaluation and Recommendation on relevant Broadcast Projects. 
  • Taking part in the management of spares for the Systems, Equipment, and providing inventory of spare parts list. 
  • Taking part in the review of technical assessments and proposals submitted by Broadcast Systems Engineers for system improvements and provides recommendations for the Head of Section as applicable. 
  • Taking part in overseeing engineering configuration and system testing of newly acquired or newly repaired broadcast systems. 
  • Recommend training programs to enhance skills and competence of the staff and ensure a clear and systematic career path. 
  • Taking part in managing the process of creating ongoing repair, maintenance programs, and equipment replacement programs related to broadcast systems. 
  • Taking part in managing Broadcast Contracts and SLA’s and ensure to utilize them efficiently
Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Telecommunication/Computer Engineering
  • 9 years of professional experience in Broadcast Engineering and relevant equipment's operation/maintenance 
  • 3 years Projects Experience related to Broadcast/Broadcast IT 
  • 2 years experience in a similar role,
