Position Summary:

Our Mechanicsburg, PA office is looking for a Project Accountant. This is an opportunity to show off your skills in dealing with the many facets of financial responsibility for construction projects. You will work directly with a construction team to help facilitate the billing, payments, change orders & closeout of a project. Your position will help the company in recognizing revenue for the monthly financial reporting of the Ainsworth division.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Project Executives regarding all financial responsibilities to a construction project, inclusive of change orders and other contract modifications, approval and any additional services related to billing.
  • Prepare invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects and any applicable backup.
  • Evaluate and track opportunities for maximization of client billing; communicate with the Accounting Supervisor, as to your observations and actions to be taken.
  • Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period.
  • Manage all paperwork related to collection of payments from clients.
  • Facilitate accounts payable process; directly responsible for processing sub and vendor invoices that meet approval criteria.
  • Review outstanding accounts receivables and contact customers for collection.
  • Monthly analysis of projects to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Establish point of contact with client to promote open and positive communications.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in a Project Accountant role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or some college courses in accounting or business preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, including experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and accounting software
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through completion
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situation and respond to changes in priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills
  • Most Importantly, Self-motivation to take initiative, high energy, positive attitude, and use of sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
