 Position Summary:

We are currently looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. As a Journeyman, you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of basic electronic theory and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, wiring, BMS and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of installations.
  • Repairs and maintains low voltage systems (under 120V).
  • Assist in delivering BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
  • Assist with site commissioning, point to point verifications, troubleshooting and startup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
  • Appropriately handles and is familiar with all testing and electrical repair tools and equipment.
  • Perform tasks with minimum supervision and in accordance with ESC Health &  Safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
  • Understand fundamentals of how HVAC systems operate on commercial buildings.
  • Work with and understand HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Fluent in English – both written and oral.
  • The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
  • Medium physical duties, the ability to stand for long periods of time in a construction environment, the ability to climb ladders and at times work from heights.
  • Good knowledge of the electrical trade and the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Adept at installing conduit and pulling wire
