Position Summary:

We are currently looking for an Controls Designer Level 3 to join our growing team based out of Calgary Alberta. As an Controls Designer Level 3 you will be involved in the installation, commissioning and servicing of commercial building automation systems. This position requires a good working knowledge of PC fundamentals, PC Networking / LAN, basic electronic theory and Building Electrical / Mechanical systems.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver BAS solutions to our customer base within the Construction/Operation Department.
  • Lead site commissioning, point to point verifications, troubleshooting and startup of a variety of Building Automation Systems.
  • Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ainsworth's Safe Work and H&S Policies.
  • Strong knowledge of how HVAC systems operate on commercial buildings.
  • Master HVAC and Digital Control fundamentals
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of BAS Networking and Building System Integration.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Fluent in English – both written and oral.
  • The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
  • Graduate of Post-Secondary technical or engineering program.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office.
  • Medium physical duties, the ability to stand for long periods of time in a construction environment, the ability to climb ladders and at times work from heights.
  • Proven ability to program Delta Controls product
  • Proven ability to commission a large sized project with minimal oversight
  • Able to represent Ainsworth’s interests at site and industry meetings
  • Able to communicate and coordinate with other trades and their own team to successfully complete larger projects
  • Able to provide technical support and coordination for multiple projects (4+) at the same time
  • Technical expert in at least one facet of the controls trade, actively takes a large load off of the Project Manager
