Prefabrication Shop Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Ainsworth Electrical Prefabrication department produces control panels, prefab assemblies, and provides support services such as printing and logistics for Ainsworth field teams and for external clients. This is a progressive and growing part of Ainsworth’s overall operation, and so we are looking to add an enthusiastic team member to become an integral part of that growth and development. The Prefabrication Coordinator will work closely with the shop team to learn our operations and to become a key part of them.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Procurement / Material Handling
- Submit orders to purchasing dept.
- Assist design team in materials sourcing and pricing
- Receive materials and organize by project
- Coordinate with shop team on project & materials scheduling
- Follow up with suppliers to resolve issues
- Assist shop team to process excess or wrong materials – RMA and restocking
- Process Label Printing Requests
- Receive and process standard labeling and documentation printing requests
- Coordinate logistics for order shipping / pick-up
- Work with field teams to find labeling solutions for different applications
- Support shop team as needed for project labeling / documentation
- Shipping / Receiving Coordination
- Receive and track large shipments of equipment for projects. Coordinate with freight companies and warehouse receiving team
- Schedule shipments of shop products, including create packing slip, waybill, customs documents
- Maintain Shop Supplies
- Check stock, order replenishments, and maintain shelves with general shop supplies
- Work with production team to source / purchase tools as needed
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Admin and Operations Support
- Assist with product and performance analysis exercises
- Assist with IT / HR tasks supporting the production team
- Assist with Sales / Training events
- Process billing for inter-company transactions
- Assist with project closeout admin (documentation and organization)
- Assist in organization of design libraries of standard drawings and products
- Process replenishment orders for warehouse stocked prefab products
- Work with Prefab team to create and curate Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements:
- Key Skills Required
- Basic computer use – MS Office, Excel, Basic PDF editing
- Purchasing, logistics, warehousing experience in related field
- Understanding of Worksafe and safe work practices (forklift, pallet jack, lifting, etc)
- Skills / Experience Preferred
- Database / ERP software experience
- Electrical wholesale supply or similar background
- Manufacturing experience, especially related to resource planning
- Other computer skills – Programming, database design, advanced excel, graphics, etc…
- Experience with scheduling systems / software
- Lean, Six Sigma, and other workplace process improvement training and experience
- Mechanical aptitude, trade knowledge
- Experience with warehouse tools / equipment: forklift, pallet jack, basic packaging processes
- Personal Attributes
- Punctual and organized; able to meet a schedule
- Dedicated and takes ownership of tasks to ensure they are completed
- High-energy and motivates workers around them
- Able to solve problems independently or else identify when to escalate them
- Outgoing with professional communication skills (email, phone, video, face to face)
- Effective time management skills. Able to balance many smaller tasks in a day

- Process oriented, able to follow standard procedures as well as work to improve them
- Keeps a tidy and organized workspace. Possess a keen eye for effective use of space
