We are seeking a skilled and motivated engineer to contribute to the design and development of MarkLogic’s multi-model database. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and performance of core features related to the database kernel, security, and scalability. You’ll work closely with product management, quality assurance, and technical documentation to deliver high-quality features on time.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of key features for the MarkLogic database, including query, security, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner and Development teams to help define functional and non-functional requirements.
- Assist junior engineers with technical challenges and promote best practices in technology and tools.
- Contribute to proof-of-concept projects for the MarkLogic Database and Server Product.
- Participate in technical discussions and ensure smooth project collaboration.
Your background:
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Advanced C++ coding skills
- 5+ years of experience working on database internals or data processing systems
- 2+ years of experience in distributed and multi-threaded systems
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems (Windows is a plus)
- Familiarity with all stages of the software development lifecycle
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have:
- Experience with distributed systems, fault-tolerant software architecture, and performance tuning
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, query engines, and indexing
- Familiarity with security technologies like SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, and SSL
- Knowledge of web and network protocols, as well as document formats like JSON and XML
