The role is a part of our Global People Experience and Operations team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, People Experience & Operations for the Americas region. While this role will have a focus in the CALA region, there will be many opportunities to be involved in projects within the broader Americas and global scopes.
 

In this role, you will: 

  • Act as the local point of contact for both managers and employees when it comes to any people-related topics. 
  • Partner with local managers and the global People Team to roll out key people processes in the Americas (compensation, benefits, development programs, etc.).  
  • Create and improve existing local/regional/global processes, policies, and guidelines related to the People Team scope.
  • Navigate and resolve complex performance management and employee relations cases, including terminations, partnering with other functions with an additional ability to track, report, and analyze case trends to recommend programs/initiatives to address common themes.  
  • Maintain and apply an in-depth knowledge of labor law requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, with the goal of reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Oversee the execution of People Team compliance projects and support compliance and audit requests from internal and external auditors; may lead and conduct external research.  
  • Coordinate and execute activities that help to increase employee satisfaction, motivation, morale, engagement, and retention.  
  • Partner with the global People Experience Team on the local execution of People Team projects and programs.  
  • Facilitate different types of training for the CALA and Americas populations, including but not limited to new manager orientation sessions, new manager assimilation sessions, career and development sessions, etc. 
  • Collaborate with our COE’s on different initiatives and programs such as employer branding, talent management programs, compensation planning, and orientation sessions for employees and managers.
  • Work with Workday – responding to questions from employees, processing business requests, ensuring data integrity from a local perspective, etc.   
  • Collaborate with other Progress functions such as Workplace Operations, Finance, Audit, etc. on regional related projects. 
  • Actively support the integration processes of newly acquired companies.
  • Assist with Costa Rica based recruiting/talent acquisition activities.
  • Other relevant duties as they arise/as assigned.  

Your background: 

  • Substantial Human Resources / People Team generalist experience, preferably in a complex, multinational technology organization. 
  • Extensive knowledge of Costa Rican labor laws, regulations, and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation/facilitation to all levels of the organization.   
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively identify, analyze, and proactively provide recommendations and resolve complex situations in conjunction with business leaders.
  • Commitment to operational excellence in management and execution of processes and programs.  
  • High customer and results-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.  
  • Strong organization and analytical skills who is self-motivated and able to manage competing and urgent priorities in a fast-paced and prone to change environment.  
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with a remote and distributed workforce of stakeholders at various levels.  
  • Balanced business mindset, effectively able to balance between employee and business needs.
  • Excitement to build partnerships with managers, employees, and People Team colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, both written and verbal communications
  • Advanced user of all MS Office Suite applications.
