Manager:  Director of Marketing

Location:  Seattle, Washington (South Park)

Schedule:  Monday - Friday (Full Time)

Wage:  $67,000 - $71,000 yearly

Northwest Center’s Marketing Department seeks a Communications Specialist who is a strong writer, editor, and communicator who will help capture our brand voice and use it to promote our organization to a variety of internal and external markets.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree (journalism, communications or related field) or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years related experience; 3-5 years preferred
  • Strong writing, particularly in news feature/journalism style, and the ability to write concise, creative copy for marketing materials that range from event programs to Twitter posts
  • Knowledge of best practices when creating content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Adaptable to working in a variety of communication programs that may include Vocus, Outmarket or Constant Contact
  • Comfort making phone calls to media, representing our organization to the public at special events, and conducting interviews with a community with a large amount of neuro-diversity
  • A strong desire to work in an inclusive, non-profit environment where teams are not 'siloed' but work together in pursuit or our mission

In the role of Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for written communications and content for our newsletter and social media and will also help build our public relations efforts through regular media outreach.
