Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a Data Analyst, who will be supporting the Federal Law Enforcement and related criminal data programs by transforming raw criminal justice data into accurate, meaningful, and accessible insights. This role focuses on data modeling, analytics, and Power BI dashboard development that directly enable public‑facing transparency and internal decision‑making. The analyst works closely with the Web Designer (UI/UX) to ensure data visualizations are accurate, intuitive, and aligned with FBI mission needs.  This position directly strengthens the client’s ability to deliver accurate, transparent, and accessible crime data to the public. By producing high‑quality analytics and visualizations, the Data Analyst ensures that policymakers, law enforcement, and the public can confidently interpret and act on critical criminal justice information. Location: Clarksburg, WV
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Clean, validate, and transform criminal justice datasets for use in analytics and public‑facing dashboards. 
  • Develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that support CDE and other FBI data platforms. 
  • Collaborate with the Web Designer to integrate visualizations into user‑friendly, accessible interfaces. 
  • Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies in crime data to support FBI reporting and transparency initiatives. 
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, identify potentially misunderstood data, and integrity across all visualizations and published products. 
  • Work with data engineers, developers, and program managers to refine data pipelines and reporting requirements. 
  • Support Section 508 compliance by ensuring visualizations meet accessibility standards (color contrast, alt text, screen‑reader compatibility). 
  • Document data sources, definitions, transformations, and analytical methods for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews to validate data outputs before public release. 
Minimum Requirements 
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
  • Five years hands on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard design.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets (preferably criminal justice, law enforcement, or federal data).
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.
  • Understanding of data visualization best practices and accessibility requirements.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience supporting federal or law enforcement data programs.
  • Knowledge of FBI UCR, NIBRS, or other criminal data collections.
  • Certifications such as:
    • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL‑300)
    • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
    • Tableau or other BI tool certifications
    • IAAP CPACC (for accessibility awareness)
    • Experience with Python, R, or statistical analysis tools (optional but beneficial).
