ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Interface & Collaboration
As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) for the Enterprise sector, you will be a critical part of our Field Engineering Organization in APAC, focusing on the Korea Enterprise business. You will work closely with Account Managers, acting as the field application consultant and product specialist to close deals and create demand for Wind River solutions. You will understand market needs, promote the adoption of Wind River products, and provide expert technical support for Intelligent edge systems, such as industrial and medical systems.

- Understand customer’s technical needs, architecting technical solutions, and demonstrating them through product presentations, Discovery/Technical workshops, proof of concepts/values, and evaluations to win the technical sale.
- Conduct detailed product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of our Enterprise Linux solutions.
- Provide technical presentations to various audience levels, from technical staff to executive stakeholders.
- Serve as a single technical point of contact, become the customer's trusted advisor and the Wind River solutions expert.
- Manage all technical needs of account utilizing all available resources.
- Exhibit leadership skills during customer requirements analysis and creating technical solutions.
- Develop territory and regional (multi-site) account plans with the Account managers and execute successfully.
- Listen to customer's needs, architect solutions and present value proposition.
- Manage Trade Shows and Seminars.
- Provide consistent market feedback to Wind River.
- Remove technical barriers for Wind River solutions.
- Increase Wind River market share with each customer.
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
- Deep expertise in private cloud and virtualization platforms, including Kubernetes (K8s), OpenStack, VMware vSphere/ESXi, OpenShift, and StarlingX.
- Extensive hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing cloud-native and virtualized infrastructure for enterprise and edge computing use cases.
- Strong experience with containerization using Docker, including image creation, registry usage, and runtime tuning.
- Proven expertise in hypervisor-level virtualization, particularly with KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine).
- Experience in system performance tuning, infrastructure monitoring, security hardening, and disaster recovery planning.
- Skilled in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Ansible, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to design and present technical solutions based on customer requirements, including technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and response to RFP/RFI documents.
- Ability to lead PoCs and pilot deployments, provide hands-on technical support, and troubleshoot issues during evaluation and production rollout.
- Familiarity with software-defined infrastructure technologies, including SDN/NFV and Ceph storage, is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of enterprise Linux distributions, such as Debian/Ubuntu, CentOS, Fedora, and OpenSUSE.
- Experience working in multi-vendor, cross-functional, and international team environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- Proven expertise in cloud technologies, including K8S and Openstack.
- Strong understanding of virtualization, containerization, and infrastructure automation.
- 6+ cloud-native and virtualized infrastructure experience
- Relevant K8S and Openstack certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience responding to customer RFPs is desirable.
- Demonstrated self-starter and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to customers and trade shows, when required, within Korea.
- Working experience with overseas departments or international software companies is a plus.
