The Engineering Associate assists in design and analysis activities related to hydrology and hydraulics of open channel and closed pipe systems, general civil engineering including site layout, grading and stormwater management design, environmental engineering and permitting support for regulatory compliance. Other responsibilities include evaluation of technical information concerning environmental remediation projects, and support of field data collection efforts through water quality and soil sampling. Effective application of standard engineering principles is required along with a strong ability to author technical documentation.
Job Description
Develop plans, specifications, engineer’s estimates of construction cost and reports as needed for projects and to see these items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice within contract constraints.
Perform field engineering duties including: contractor coordination, construction oversight, data and sample collection.
Assist with the research and preparation of technical reports and documentation related to water resources, water quality regulations, environmental remediation, permitting for construction and other civil engineering projects.
Perform related responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Water Resources), from an ABET accredited program with 2 to 4 yrs experience. Demonstrates ability to accept additional work responsibility in coordinating project activities.
Certifications:- EIT registration preferred and ability to obtain PE when eligible.
Experience with PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HydroCAD and/or TR-55 is a plus
Understanding of CAD and GIS programs such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D or ERSI Arc Map a plus.
Able to analyze, interpret and present data.
Able to meet time sensitive deadlines.
Able to carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
Able to travel for weeks at a time in support of environmental response programs and have a valid driver's license.
Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
Effective verbal communication skills with colleagues, vendors, and subcontractors. Must be able to explain scopes of work (RFP) and obtain quotes from vendors.

Salary Range: $59,000 - $78,800 - $98,300
