The Senior Facilities Mechanic performs work required for the installation, maintenance, repair and improvement of buildings, equipment and grounds depending on the trade assigned. This may include, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, painting and carpentry. He/she will mentor, provide training, and schedule daily Portal requests to the Facilities staff at the direction of the Facilities Manager. The Senior Facilities Mechanic will oversee the Facilities staff in the absence of the Facilities Manager.
Location: West Chester, PA or within a reasonable distance to respond to on-call emergencies.
Expected Outcomes:
- Inspect, repair, install, modify, and maintain fixtures and systems within a particular trade or trades
- Identify safety problems applicable to the installation and take necessary corrective action.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks to ensure efficient overall workflow of assignment
- Provide sub-contractor direction and safety training
- Plan and provide office and cube set-ups and relocations. Move furniture and set up office/cubical space.
- Provide preventive maintenance services to WESTON buildings and grounds.
- Perform snow removal services and work with sub-contractors as needed.
- Must be cross trained in mail services operations and provide support as needed.
- Perform all work in a manner that is consistent with WESTON’s health and safety standards.
- Provide for a safe, secure and desirable work environment and provide recommendations for corrective measures and improvements as needed.
- Serve as a first responder for any emergencies that arise on campus. Provide directions to employees and local emergency responders.
- Maintain and update the Facilities Job Hazard Analysis program.
- Required to write scopes of work and accept contractor bids as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Perform work in a manner that ensures a sustainable and cost-effective solution.

- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Follows WESTON’s corporate procedures and policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school diploma required, plus a minimum of 6 years general building and maintenance experience.
- Must possess First Aid, CPR and AED certifications, or be able to obtain them with WESTON provided training.
- Must possess forklift operation certification or be able to obtain with WESTON provided training.
- Certification as required of the particular trade.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations outside regular working hours as needed.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance and follow procedures per the corporate Facility Security Officer.
- Able to lift and carry small to medium size loads of up to 50 pounds.
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Able to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with constant interruption, often under pressure; must be flexible to changes in priorities.
- Must be able to operate, maintain and repair various types of power tools and equipment and exterior grounds equipment.
- Able to complete all tasks to conclusion on a scheduled basis.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and cross train in other disciplines as needed.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and able to effectively communicate and understand the needs of employees and vendors at all levels.
- Proficient computer skills.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
Salary Range: $56,068-$73,698-$91,225
