Job Description:

Environmental and Hazardous Material projects and operational tasks, and performing permit-required and regulatory tasks to ensure facilities are compliant with Federal, State and Local regulations.  Will also include some Asbestos, Lead and Soil Management practices. Position will require daily travel to EWR (Newark Airport). Night and weekend shifts may be required.  Multi-facility assignments.

 

Requirements:

The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read plans and specifications, storm water pollution prevention plans and best management plans for regulatory code compliance; prepare reports, inspection checklists, and waste shipping manifests; maintain environmental databases; assist in the response to facility environmental hazard complaints, including, but not limited to, pest control issues, indoor air complaints, and noise complaints; and must be knowledgeable with Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures regulations and industrial storm water rules and practices. Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable with Federal, State, and Local air and aboveground storage tank regulations.

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in inspection and monitoring for above requirements.
  • RCRA/DOT Hazardous Material Waste Management and Transportation training.
  • Construction Site Soil-Erosion and Sediment Control (SESC) training.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training
  • OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to clear SWAC Background Check at High Priority Level.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver's license.
