Weston is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Specialist to support EPA operations by maintaining, repairing, and tracking environmental field equipment used in emergency response and routine operations. This role ensures equipment readiness, compliance, and reliability to meet project and client needs.

This full-time, on-site position is based out of Linwood, PA. Monthly travel is required to EPA’s other equipment warehouse locations in Region III, including Philadelphia, PA (approximately 1 day per month), Fort Meade, MD (approximately 1 day per month), and Wheeling, WV (approximately 3 days per month). These durations may vary from month-to-month depending upon EPA client needs.

This position is expected to maintain a 24/7 response capability with the ability to respond and mobilize to emergency responses with EPA equipment within six (6) hours of notification.

Location: Linwood, PA (primary), with monthly travel to Philadelphia, PA; Fort Meade, MD; Wheeling, WV.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Maintain, repair, and track environmental field equipment (e.g., samplers, air monitoring instruments, GPS units, SCBAs, vehicles, trailers, sampling pumps, respiratory protection equipment, and related equipment).
  • Perform equipment management, calibration, and supply inventory.
  • Document maintenance and repairs in equipment tracking databases.
  • Support warehouse operations and ensure equipment is ready for deployment.
  • Provide customer service to internal teams regarding equipment needs.
  • Comply with DOT/CMV transportation requirements and Weston safety standards.
  • Maintain 24/7 response capability for emergency mobilization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic Incident Command System (ICS) Level 200.
  • Minimum 5 years maintaining, repairing, and tracking environmental field equipment used in hazardous substance and oil response.
  • Experience with equipment management, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in equipment tracking systems/databases.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a PIV card.
  • DOT/CMV medical clearance.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Mechanical aptitude for pumps, gauges, small engines.
  • Familiarity with air monitoring instruments and safety equipment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Safe driving record.

Additional Requirements

  • Must meet the requirements for federal background checks.
  • Must meet the requirements for unescorted access to EPA facilities, which requires issuance of a federal PIV card.
  • Ability to be trained in the use of the Sunflower asset management system.
  • This position requires the Equipment Maintenance Specialist to obtain a Personal Identification Verification card.
  • Daily interaction with the EPA client at the EPA facilities mentioned above and on emergency response assignments. Good oral communication skills and documentation skills are required.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors

Salary Range: $67,343 - $88,868 - $110,290
