THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a diligent and highly skilled Senior Accountant, Investor Reporting to join our high growth, dynamic team. Reporting to the Manager of Investor Reporting, this individual will play a key role in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual fund reporting cycles, maintaining accurate fund entity records, and contributing to the successful implementation of a fund accounting software and investor portal upgrade.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly and annual fund financial statements, including preparing reconciliations and booking journal entries for acquisitions, dispositions, capital calls and distributions
  • Support the quarterly investor reporting cycle, including calculation of quarterly distributions, withholding tax, promotes, and assembling reporting packages
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations, liaise with Treasury and Property Accounting teams to ensure funds are transferred between accounts timely and accurately
  • Assist with year-end tax reporting, including preparing tax files, reviewing K-1 slips and state returns in collaboration with the Tax team
  • Test new reports in fund accounting system
  • Help with implementation of fund accounting software upgrade
  • Comply with all policies and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE PROFILE      

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or relevant field.
  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing)
  • 4+ years progressive accounting and reporting industry experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Natural curiosity and willingness to dig into the detail and learn new skills
  • Aptitude to leverage technology to gain efficiencies and improve processes
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of SQL and VBA considered an asset
  • Experience in Dynamo, Oracle or Yardi considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Experience in real estate or private equity fund accounting is preferred
