Position Overview:
The Assistant Manager, Social Media will oversee UNIQLO Canada’s organic social media presence, leading content creation, managing social calendars, and contributing to creative strategy in support of overall business objectives.  This role requires a native social media user with a strong understanding of social-first content, a passion for brand storytelling, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving digital landscape.
 
The ideal candidate has a strong pulse on cultural trends and can translate timely, trend-driven moments into engaging content that resonates with Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences.  Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage content calendars, scheduling, and publishing across all @UNIQLOCANADA social media channels in collaboration with an external social media agency.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to strategically integrate product priorities, brand announcements, and corporate initiatives into social content calendars.

  • Lead end-to-end content production in stories, studios, and at brand events, including creative ideation, casting, product logistics, and set design.

  • Develop social-first content strategies tailored to each platform, ensuring relevance, effectiveness, and alignment with brand objectives.

  • Organize, manage, and maintain social media assets, imagery, and related materials.

  • Collaborate with PR and influencer teams to support influencer programs, including the development and maintenance of influencer target lists.

  • Manage community engagement by monitoring and responding to comments and direct messages, while identifying potential new talent and partnership opportunities.

  • Compile and analyze internal and external performance reporting, leveraging insights to optimize content, drive follower growth, and increase engagement.

  • Stay informed on culturally relevant events, industry news, and digital trends to inform real-time social strategies.

  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Brand Communications, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of professional experience in social media marketing or a related role, preferably within fashion, retail or lifestyle brands (agency or in-house).

  • Strong content creation skills across multiple platforms, with comfort appearing on camera when needed.

  • Advanced proficiency in Photo/Video editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or Canva.

  • Deep understanding of the global digital and social media landscape within the fashion and lifestyle space.

  • Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from ideation through execution with a sense of urgency.

  • Resourceful, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to multitask and pivot based on changing priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and positive, can-do attitude.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Willingness to travel to retail locations across Canada for content creation as required.

  • French language proficiency considered an asset.

Annual Salary: $ 98,000 CAD. 
 
The offered salary is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
