Junior Accountant
Description
We are seeking a Junior Accountant for our Manila team to be responsible for monthly and quarterly financial reporting. This position assists the Senior Accountant and the Accounting Supervisor with processing, recording, and reporting of the financial transactions, as well as monthly reconciliation report preparations and audit compliance.
This position will work the early morning shift (7a-4p Philippines Time) to collaborate with U.S. leaders, counterparts and team members.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and processing of documents related to the Revenue Cycle (preparation of billing statement and official receipt, update of AR ledger).
- Preparation and processing of documents relative to the Expenditure Cycle (payment set-up, preparation of payment voucher, AP ledger maintenance, liaison with Tyler US AP team for payments approval).
- Preparation of journal entries with supporting documentation, including assistance with payroll journals.
- Preparation of bank account reconciliations, including follow-up of outstanding checks
- Assist in month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close and preparation of relevant schedules and reconciliation reports.
- Provisioning of the required accounting data to third-party tax consultants for
- the purpose of preparing the required monthly, quarterly, and annual tax forms.
- Assist with system integration from QuickBooks to Dynamics 365
The Junior Accountant must be able to:
- Manage and meet business critical reporting deadlines.
- Effectively research and resolve issues that may arise.
- Provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate financial information to all levels of the organization.
- Manage multiple systems that process accounting transactions to produce financial statements.
- Generate, present and effectively communicate relevant and actionable information to management as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting, or comparable work experience
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles as well as GAAP PHP
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
- Experience with QuickBooks and Dynamics 365 and system integration helpful
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Keen attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience working for a large US based publicly traded company is helpful
- Must be able to work 5 days per week at our BGC Office in Taguig.
