Senior Compensation Consultant
Description
As a Senior Compensation Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing and administering compensation programs at Tyler. You will support the design and development of innovative, competitive, cost-effective compensation and reward programs that enable us to attract, retain, reward, and motivate our team members. In this role, you will serve as an internal consultant to HR and the business regarding compensation evaluations, equity analyses, range placement, FLSA classifications, job evaluations, and policy interpretations. You will be solutions-oriented and have a strong ability to partner with the business to deliver client-focused results and practical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partners with Compensation and HR team members, as well as other stakeholders, to deliver compensation programs and services to the business.
- Serves as internal compensation subject matter expert. Educates and informs partners about Tyler compensation policies, programs, and practices and makes recommendations to improve their value and effectiveness.
- Responsible for the planning and execution of work related to the administration of compensation programs. These may include, but are not limited to, Tyler’s annual salary review program, variable pay programs, executive compensation and equity award programs, sales compensation programs, and global compensation.
- Responsible for leading and/or supporting the execution of compensation-related initiatives such as salary structure modifications, business integrations and re-organizations, cost modeling, and employee impact analyses, and partners with HR team members and stakeholders to implement approved changes.
- Supports the Sr. Director, Compensation with research, analysis, design work, modeling, presentations, and reporting of compensation programs and initiatives, such as executive compensation and pay equity.
- Compiles, analyzes, interprets, and visualizes data to our internal clients in a manner that tells a compelling story.
- Jointly responsible for survey submissions and compensation studies.
- Evaluates jobs for grade placement and/or grade level changes.
- Helps solve compensation-related business problems.
- Jointly responsible for the maintenance of Tyler’s compensation-related technology solutions and subscriptions (e.g., UltiPro, MarketPay, ERI, and various survey sources).
- Leads or supports the development of compensation communications, tools, and job aids.
- Keeps current on regulatory changes and makes recommendations for improvements to programs and practices.
- Evaluates compensation processes and makes recommendations for streamlining and simplifying administration.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business with 8+ years of progressive responsibility in compensation or the equivalent
- In-depth, multi-disciplinary knowledge of compensation theories and their practical applications and a demonstrated ability to use this knowledge to develop solutions to address complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Experience in broad-based compensation, variable pay programs, and related regulatory and compliance matters.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with partners to develop and deliver business-driven compensation services and solutions.
- Advanced spreadsheet and database skills
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Ability to manage ambiguity, inform and influence while working well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
Preferred
- Experience in executive compensation, global compensation, sales compensation
- An understanding of data science principles and experience applying them to compensation programs
- Experience in the tech industry
