Solutions Consultant Job Description – Courts & Justice

As a member of the Sales team, the Solution Consultant works closely with Account Executives to help prospective customers understand, visualize, and achieve their organizational goals using Tyler’s solutions. The Solution Consultant is a major component of Tyler’s initial contact with a prospect, helping to shape our relationships and ultimately paving the way for a successful project.

The Solution Consultant collaborates heavily with other departments, including development, to learn new features and functionality and to ensure functional/technical accuracy and synchronization with Tyler’s overall solution and implementation approach. This position also works with senior management during the sales cycle to determine the scope of project and during the demonstrations. 


  • Conduct business process reviews with prospective customers to understand their specific needs and to tailor a message that addresses their business objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth onsite/online presentations and demonstrations Courts and Justice products and services to prospective customers
  • Consult with Account Executives to address and resolve client or prospective customer issues
  • Develop new content for proposals, and customize existing content to reflect specific client requirements within required time frames
  • Maintain product expertise and independently keep up to date on new functionality
  • Research proposal responses with internal subject matter experts
  • Extensive travel required


  • BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 or more years of experience in courts and justice or equivalent experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Experience with Courts and Justice applications desired
  • Ability to field a broad range of questions and respond in an appropriate manner
  • Ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical customers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and at a fast pace.
  • Self-directed, proactive, analytical and organized.
  • 50-75 percent travel required
