Total Wine & More is seeking a Sr. Associate Buyer, Spirits to join our Buying team in our Bethesda, MD office. You will be responsible for driving sales and achieving margin targets for our spirits categories. You will also support the team in building assortment plans, selling tools, pricing, and promotional strategies along with inventory management to ensure that the selection is the best in the industry. You will manage the new item process, data entry/maintenance, own supplier relationships, and work with internal partners to meet our customer demands.  The ideal candidate will be able to analyze data, have a very strong sense of urgency, organization, prioritization and attention to detail, making recommendations that will drive sales and margin. You will report to the Sr. Manager, Spirits Buying.
 
You will 
  • Support supervisor on managing all aspects of the supplier relationship and/or independently manage assigned suppliers
  • Manage new item releases, including communication with suppliers, forecast, deadlines, and arrival to market
  • Work cross-functionally, with both internal and external business partners, to successfully deliver financial goals and drive the execution of product introduction in our stores
  • Drive execution of sales and profitability, with pre-defined strategies, including a focus on in-stock management
  • Leverage interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Support team with additional projects and strategies as needed, including process improvement and company initiatives
  • Create and analyze reports as assigned by supervisor 
     
    You will come with 
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 2+ years of experience with retail product buying or supplier management
    • Strong proficiency in Excel, and other Microsoft Office 365 programs
    • Comfortability analyzing data to manage assortment, sales, and/or margins
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
    • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Proven track record of planning and managing project deadlines in a fast-paced and hands-on environment
    • Ability to adapt with complex and rapid evolving environments, operate in ambiguity, and pivot quickly with complexities of a rapidly expanding organization

    The exempt compensation range for this position is $53,600 - $114,000. Compensation may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills and/or experience.
