Senior Manager, Technical Product Management

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Product Management to join our Merchandising and Supply Chain Product team. You will manage the product roadmap for Total Wine & More's custom developed ERP application and lead a team of product owners responsible for multiple agile delivery teams and accountable for implementation of custom software solutions supporting merchandising and supply chain. You should understand current retail business issues and processes, complex data challenges and future needs. You are an expert in multiple retail technology areas such as Pricing, Supply Chain, Merchandising, Store Operations, Promotions and Marketing, and you will work with different teams to understand their operations, challenges and opportunities for improvement and translating these to system specific requirements that can be implemented. You will report to the Senior Director, Product Management.

You will

  • Manage a team of product owner(s) and guide their development to understand, analyze and document retail business processes
  • Help develop all of our IT roadmaps and IT governance processes
  • Ensure the Engineering team (Software Engineers, Architects & Software Quality Assurance Analyst) provides high-quality and valuable software
  • Develop and align team roadmaps to organizational strategy that encompasses business features and technical capabilities
  • Oversee one or more projects against the plan and ensure completion
  • Use SQL Server to access and analyze data to investigate issues
  • Recommend solutions through ad-hoc data analysis using SQL Server.
  • Evaluate external solutions and provide necessary input to make 'Build v Buy' decisions

You will come with

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology or Science with minimum 7 plus years of relevant experience building and implementing complex software systems OR Master's degree in Engineering, Technology or Business Management with 6 plus years of relevant experience building and implementing complex software systems
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in gathering and analyzing user and technology system requirements
  • Minimum 7 years' experience documenting and designing complex procedures, processes and system architectures
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in people management and career development
  • Working knowledge of different system development methodologies (waterfall/agile/scrum)
  • Ability to use SQL Server to investigate, analyze and visualize complex data
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, and Azure DevOps/TFS for requirements management
  • Experience or education in retail, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, industrial engineering or similar industries
