Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Plating Technician to join our growing team. The Plating Technician 1st Shift will be responsible perform the plating processes on metal components, and for completing a final inspection after the plating process and verifying that it meets the requirements.

This role is on our 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and specifications of parts to determine the proper racking requirements.
  • Place parts on racks using hooks and push them into the chemical conversion film machine for processing.
  • Operate the chemical conversion film system following Standard Operating Procedures and utilizing the machine control screen and buttons.
  • Identify and articulate abnormal conditions to the lead chemical technician and supervisor.
  • Use an air hose to dry the finished parts.
  • Inspect processed parts/structures and verify they meet all quality standards.
  • Adhere to all corporate safety procedures and requirements.
  • Ensure the workstation is kept clean, organized, and free of hazardous materials.
  • Maintain all required logs, documents, and records as required by process controls.
  • Performs minor equipment maintenance such as anode and cathode bar cleaning, rack stripping, changing filters, etc.
  • May be required to perform more than one operation at a time as directed by the Department Supervisor.
  • Works with reporting all questions or problems to department supervisor.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed

 Qualification and Skills

  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Able to use Microsoft 365 software
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Good communication abilities

Salary Range $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.

Work Environment

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
