The Terran Orbital Legal Department is seeking to expand its litigation expertise by adding a passionate Senior Litigation Counsel. You will not just manage litigation but will be expected to run litigation matters from start to finish, collaborating with outside counsel. Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: employment, corporate/ securities, government contracts, and commercial litigation.  

The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for giving business-minded advice on dispute prevention and resolution; drafting and sending litigation hold notices; drafting the Company’s pleadings, motions and other filings; reviewing and analyzing adverse pleadings, motions, and other filings; performing legal research in anticipation and support of litigation; reviewing and responding to written discovery requests (including overseeing the gathering and review of internal documents and information); preparing Company witnesses for deposition; reviewing and analyzing adverse party’s discovery responses; preparing outside counsel and witnesses for depositions; negotiating settlements; and otherwise be the Company’s primary resource for meeting all of its litigation needs.

Qualifications and Skills   

  • At least 5+ years combined litigation experience at a recognized law firm and in-house legal department
  • Government contracts (including regulatory and FCA), employment or securities litigation experience is a plus
  • Experience working on real estate and construction litigation will also be taken into consideration
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight is required
  • Trial, motion, and deposition experience required
  • Experience managing litigation matters from client intake to matter closeout with minimal oversight including fact analysis, drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery, performing legal research
  • Experience managing electronic discovery, including creating/negotiating discovery plans, managing discovery, document collection and review, and review and analysis of opposing party’s document production
  • Ability to work well with outside counsel is required
  • Must be admitted to a State bar or the District of Columbia bar, and eligible to practice as an in house attorney in California

Salary Range $200,000-$260,000  

Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience. Physical Demands   

An employee must meet the physical demands described to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. In performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit or stand for long durations of time, in addition to bending, reaching, and walking. This would require the ability to lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. This position is generally sedentary, with substantial computer usage.  

Work Environment   

The job operates in a professional office environment but in a manufacturing company. This job routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners.
