General Accountability:
Reporting to the Vice President, Capital Projects the Drilling Manager will be responsible for the drilling and construction of the production wells and monitoring wells required for commercial production. The Drilling Manager will ensure that the wells are drilled and constructed safely and to the required technical specifications and regulatory requirements. The Drilling Manager will also ensure accurate data is collected from the field work and that this information is communicated in a timely manner to the appropriate parties. The Drilling Manager’s actions will be focused on achieving the project goals of delivering safe, environmentally sound, cost effective, and functional facilities for Florence Copper which are constructed on time and on budget. The incumbent will accomplish these goals by overseeing the drilling team to manage the materials, supplies, personnel, and contractors required to develop the wells. The incumbent will also liaise with the site safety, environmental, technical, and permitting teams to ensure that the drilling and construction meets all regulatory requirements and permit conditions. The incumbent’s work with other Florence Copper employees, consultants, and contractors will foster an environment where all parties function as a cohesive, coordinated, goal-directed team.

Core Responsibilities:
• Management and monitoring of drilling and support contractors to ensure accurate tracking of activities against the contract terms, KPIs, and project schedule.
• Oversight of contractor coordination to ensure drilling and construction activities proceed efficiently and delays are minimized.
• Liaise with operations personnel to ensure project status, technical details, and regulatory matters are communicated, coordinated, and meet all requirements.
• Coordinate, communicate, and ensure timely technical decisions for well construction.
• Oversight of drilling and well construction quality assurance and testing requirements.
• Oversight of materials and supplies inventory and procurement status.
• Timely reporting of project status and progress.
• Proactively identify, manage, and resolve potential problems, conflicts, and schedule issues.
• Provide leadership and administer project management controls in a manner that will deliver the project within budget, on schedule, and at the required quality.
• Supervising, directing, coaching, training, and mentoring the drilling team, including direct and indirect reports.
• Ensure change management processes are effective and followed.

Experience:
• 10 years drilling and well construction experience in a senior role.
• Experience with geological and hydrological modelling and interpretation.
• Experience with a wide range of geophysical logs and interpretation of geological contacts and cement bond logs.
• Experience with designing, running, and interpretation of aquifer tests.
• Experience with drilling mud program design, management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with state and federal well permitting including exposure to Class I, II, or III wells.
• Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
