Key Responsibilities:
•    Reporting to the Drilling Shift Supervisor the Hydrogeological Technician monitors and observes well drilling operations logging necessary data, analyzing water samples, and characterizing the underground structure based on cuttings and drilling process results and observations.
•    The Hydrogeological Technician occupies a safety sensitive position and is responsible for assisting with wellfield data collection, hydrogeological characterization, and aquifer permit compliance activities.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
•    Observe, monitor and record assigned well drilling operations.
•    Perform groundwater sampling, and other wellfield data collection activities as required.
•    Characterize wellfield samples and assist with laboratory testing to optimize wellfield          performance.
•    Perform aquifer permit compliance activities, including wellfield performance monitoring.
•    Assist as necessary with the preparation of technical reports.
•    Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Education:
•    Experience with wellfield sampling, analysis and monitoring is required.
•    Experience monitoring or observing well drilling operations and related activities.
•    Database/data logger experience is preferred. 
•    Well drilling, or geological logging experience would be beneficial.
•    Some familiarity with aquifer related regulations is preferred.
•    Must be able to effectively manage time, set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, technical report writing experience preferred.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrology, or related field is required.
Work Environment:
•    This position will include some office work, but a significant amount will be performed in all-weather conditions outdoors.
•    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
