Shipping / Receiving Specialist
SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Shipping / Receiving Specialist that is organized and detailed orientated to efficiently manage inbound and outbound shipments. The selected candidate will be responsible will be responsible for loading and unloading packages, verifying shipment contents, and managing documentation associated with SRC’s processes.
What You’ll Do
- Safely load and unload materials from vehicles, checking for accuracy and reporting any deficiencies in order
- Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and quality, and document in the company’s database
- Verify delivered items against purchase orders, and delivery documentation
- Coordinate with carriers for pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely and efficient transport of goods
- Communicate with suppliers and procurement to correct errors or provide missing documentation
- Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
- Troubleshoots shipping and receiving issues and work to resolve
- Complete and process required paperwork documenting materials picked up, shipped, received and issued
- Delivery of mail including unclassified mail to the US Post Office
- Work with internal customer on shipping costs, options, and schedule
- Distribute and maintain paper supplies to building copiers
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting the facilities department as needed

- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Use initiative to seek continuous improvement and assist with implementation of improvement projects and other tasks as needed
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a friendly and flexible demeanor
What You’ll Bring
- High school degree or equivalent
- Proven work experience in shipping and receiving is benefit
- Microsoft Office suite experience
- Experience utilizing material handling equipment, including a fork truck, lift truck, and pallet jack preferred
- Valid, clean driver’s license with at least 1 year driving experience and no DWIs or suspensions
- Proficient PC skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English and follow standard written work instructions
- Must have strong attention to detail, solid decision-making skills and be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Routine and frequent lifting of 50 pounds
- Must complete Forklift safety training
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance
- Complete training on dangerous goods within 60 days

Total compensation for this role is market competitive. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $40,000 to $45,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.
