Position Summary

Shorr Packaging is looking for a driven sales professional with a successful track record of building and expanding a book of business to enhance our sales team.  As an Account Executive (AE) you will be accountable for building and managing a portfolio of active accounts. 

The AE represents our full portfolio of solutions to accounts within the assigned region. A successful AE will serve as a business partner to their clients and will nurture and grow key relationships both internally and externally. You will guide the development of proposals for potential clients, pulling in internal resources as necessary.

This position is ultimately, after your transition period, a fully commissioned position with uncapped earning potential and includes flexible PTO, strong medical/dental/vision insurance, and participation as an employee-owner in our ESOP.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage knowledge of the packaging industry and domain expertise to identify, create, and close profitable, margin-enhancing business opportunities
  • Track sales activity, develop sales plans, understand the local market and competitive trends, and complete the analysis of sales deals
  • Exemplify Shorr’s value proposition with our customers to effectively manage projects and relationships, often through collaboration with a wide array of cross-functional partners
  • Responsible for consistently achieving performance targets and tracking their success
  • Identify opportunities to pursue based on a variety of metrics 
  • Employ a systematic approach to provide clients with creative alternatives to address their packaging needs while highlighting the value of our solutions
  • Collaborate with internal partners to position Shorr’s solutions as a strategic advantage to our customers' long-term needs
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent experience (minimum of 2 years outside sales)
  • Packaging experience is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of the solutions selling process
  • Effective influencing skills – adept at understanding the needs of, and influencing, personnel ranging up to C-level decision-makers
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
  • A driven “hunter” with a strong work ethic, exceptional self-motivation, competitiveness, and customer service
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office solutions including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
