Release Manager job description

Are you an experienced software Release Manager looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking a strong Release Manager to work with our team in order to deliver the best software solutions to our innovative and industry-leading products.

As a Release Manager, you will be working with various stake holders including the R&D department in order to deliver our products better and faster. You will be responsible for ensuring that resources, timelines, and the overall quality of the process are all considered and accounted for. 

Release Manager duties and responsibilities

  • Design release guidelines that should be implemented across the company
  • Plan release windows and the overall release lifecycle
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements to all relevant stake holders
  • Oversee the various aspects of a project before it is due to be deployed, ensuring all teams are on track and meeting the agreed guidelines
  • Measure and monitor progress
  • Manage risks that may affect release scope
  • Ensure Quality Assurance teams know the guidelines of the project and will check that these standards are met before a project is officially launched
  • Ensure a project is rolled out smoothly and efficiently
  • Ensure releases are delivered within budget and requirements
  • Manage relationships and coordinate projects between different teams
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Release Manager requirements and qualifications

  • Previous working experience as a Release Manager of security B2B product for at least 5 years
  • Multi-year project management experience
  • An excellent understanding of computer software, programming and software development lifecycles 
  • Experience with build and release management, source control management systems and continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • High quality standards, analytical skills and problem solving
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Attention to details

Release Manager added advantages

  • Experience with security around Active Directory, Azure AD, Office365, and other cloud applications
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience in software and/or a technologically relevant field
