POSITION SUMMARY:
The M&R Systems Implementation Manager is responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and deployment of a Maintenance & Repair (M&R) software solution to support equipment maintenance activities across U.S. and international operations. This role serves as the primary owner of the system implementation, ensuring the solution effectively tracks mechanic labor, work orders, parts inventory, maintenance costs, and asset replacement allocations across multiple locations in the United States, South America, the Caribbean Basin, and North America. The position requires strong hands-on M&R operational experience combined with project management expertise to ensure the system is aligned with business processes, supports accurate cost reporting, and is successfully adopted by maintenance teams across all locations. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Maintenance & Repair (M&R) operations, equipment maintenance, or asset management.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting enterprise software implementations, preferably M&R, CMMS, or asset management systems.
- Strong working knowledge of M&R processes, mechanic workflows, and equipment lifecycle management.
- Experience with M&R, CMMS, or asset management software systems.
- Solid project management skills, including planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Understanding of maintenance cost tracking, inventory management, and asset cost allocation.
- Ability to communicate in English and Spanish at an intermediate to advanced level (speak, read, and write).
- Intermediate‑level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and standard reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a complex, multi-location environment.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments as required.
- Ability to travel to U.S. and international locations to support implementation, training, and rollout activities, as dictated by business needs. Travel frequency may vary depending on project requirements.
- Ability to work across time zones and support global operations as needed.
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, Industrial Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience managing projects across multiple locations and international operations strongly preferred.
- Experience in marine, terminal, logistics, transportation, or industrial environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary
M&R System Implementation & Ownership
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of an M&R software system, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the M&R system, ensuring alignment with maintenance operations, financial tracking, and reporting needs.
- Define and standardize maintenance workflows, work order processes, and data structures across domestic and international locations.
- Coordinate system integrations, data migration, and validation activities as required.
Maintenance Standards & Fleet Strategy
- Support the development of global maintenance standards, fleet renewal strategies, and long term cost optimization initiatives.
- Assist in creating global asset lifecycle policies and fleet replacement models.
- Cross regional alignment of maintenance practices.
- Serve as the point of authority for global M&R operational standards.
- Provide guidance to regional M&R leaders and supervisors.
- Consistency in maintenance KPIs across the organization
- Benchmarking fleet performance across countries.
- Supporting procurement strategy for parts/equipment globally.
Maintenance Operations & Cost Management
- Ensure the system accurately captures mechanic labor, maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment downtime.
- Support tracking and allocation of maintenance and repair costs, including asset replacement and lifecycle costs, across U.S. and international locations.
- Partner with Finance to ensure cost allocation, reporting, and asset tracking requirements are met.
- Support development of reports and dashboards related to maintenance performance, costs, and asset utilization.
Inventory & Parts Management
- Implement processes within the system to manage company-owned parts inventory, including usage, replenishment, and valuation.
- Ensure inventory controls and data accuracy are maintained across all participating locations.
- Support standardization of parts catalogs and inventory practices where applicable.
Project Management & Deployment
- Develop and manage the overall project plan, including timelines, milestones, risks, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including M&R leadership, terminal operations, IT, Finance, and vendors.
- Manage implementation activities across overseas locations in South America, the Caribbean Basin, as well as U.S. locations.
- Track project progress, issues, and resolutions; provide regular status updates to leadership.
Training, Change Management & Support
- Develop and deliver training materials and support user adoption for mechanics, supervisors, and management.
- Support change management efforts to ensure consistent system usage and compliance with defined processes.
- Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement recommendations.
Secondary
- Provide regular updates, insights, and recommendations to leadership regarding system performance, adoption, and operational impacts.
- Represent the M&R system function in cross‑departmental and leadership meetings as needed.
- Support broader departmental initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across maintenance operations.
- Perform other related managerial duties in alignment with the role’s scope.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Reports directly to the Director – Global Fleet and indirectly to VP OF TERMINAL OPS. Does not supervise any other position but will be able to request assistance from other areas as needed for project completion.
CONDITIONS:
- Combination of office and field‑based work, with duties performed both indoors and outdoors per business needs.
- Indoor office environment with controlled temperature; noise levels may be busy due to open work areas, telephones, and customer activity.
- Outdoor/shop‑floor work may involve exposure to heat, rain, wind, and high humidity during day and night shifts.
- Occasional work near moving mechanical parts.
- Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, and certain chemicals.
- Noise levels range from moderate to high depending on the task and location.
- Moderate vibration may occur when using power tools or operating industrial equipment.
- Travel required to U.S. and international locations to support implementation, training, and rollout activities.
- Ability to work across time zones and support global operations as needed.
