TechnicalHybrid Remote, Denver, Colorado

Description

We are committed to building a workplace where everyone feels heard and respected, and extending our culture of care so that every individual can reach their full potential. We want you to have a sense of belonging and feel valued for your contributions and the perspectives you bring.

Summary:

The IFS Finance Systems Principal will serve as the dedicated, Americas-based IFS Finance specialist responsible for the technical and functional integrity of IFS Finance across the region — owning configuration architecture, leading the remediation roadmap, and serving as the senior IFS Finance authority for the Americas.

This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days in office.

Requirements:

  • IFS Finance Operations & Remediation
    • Owns the active remediation backlog; triage, resolve, and close IFS Finance issues across GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, cash management, and project invoicing.
    • Serves as the first point of contact for Americas Finance users when IFS issues arise — during close, during daily operations, and during ad-hoc escalations.
    • Investigates, reproduces, and resolves IFS Finance incidents directly; escalate to internal global support teams or IFS vendor only when configuration changes or code fixes are required.
    • Supports month-end and year-end close activities: posting runs, error resolution, reconciliation support, and period management.
    • Oversees resolution of escalated Finance incidents and ensure root-cause closure, ensuring timely communication to affected users.
    • Serves as key Americas Finance business partner for major IFS development work, ensuring finance requirements are represented in cross-functional projects.
    • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to the broader Americas finance team on IFS matters, without direct line management.
  • Process Documentation & Training
    • Creates and maintains SOPs, work instructions, and quick-reference materials for all Americas IFS Finance processes.
    • Designs and delivers hands-on training for finance end-users (GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, leases, cash, project invoicing and revenue recognition).
    • Documents error resolution procedures so recurring issues can be handled by the team without escalation.
    • Builds and maintains an IFS Finance knowledge base capturing configuration decision, lessons learned, and process flows.
    • Supports onboarding of new Finance users by explaining key IFS processes and navigation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Business Transformation Liaison
    • Acts as the Americas Finance business partner for the Business Transformation team, coordinating on prioritization, epic intake, and configuration changes.
    • Works with the Americas IFS Priority Lead to manage the top Americas priorities list and ensure alignment with Business Transformation.
    • Coordinates with Procurement, Project Controls, Construction, Fleet and Equipment (Rentals) and Development teams to resolve IFS issues that span functional boundaries (e.g., GRNI, project invoicing, intercompany invoicing).
    • Serves as Americas Finance representative in cross-functional ERP governance forums and change advisory boards.
    • Manages CRIM requests: coordinate testing, validate solutions, and ensure Finance sign-off before production deployment.
  • System Improvement & Change Management
    • Identifies root causes of recurring issues and propose configuration or process improvements — not just workarounds.
    • Participates in IFS Cloud upgrades, patches, and service updates: assess Finance impact, coordinate testing, and support cutover.
    • Contributes to test planning, test script creation, and execution of UAT for Finance-related changes.
    • Leads and supports regression testing activities during major IFS releases to ensure system stability, validate existing functionality, and prevent the introduction of defects into the production environment.
    • Evaluates IFS quarterly release features relevant to Finance and recommend adoption where beneficial.
    • Identifies opportunities to leverage IFS automation and embedded AI to reduce manual finance processes.
  • Financial Solution Stewardship
    • Maintains and governs IFS Finance configuration for Americas: chart of accounts, posting controls, accounting rules, tax configuration, and intercompany framework.
    • Owns the IFS Finance configuration architecture for the Americas, including chart of accounts strategy, intercompany framework, and consolidation design.
    • Identifies opportunities and drive adoption of newly released IFS Finance functionality to maximize the value delivered from IFS across the region.
    • Ensures upstream process decisions (procurement, project management, construction milestones) are reflected correctly in Finance — own the upstream/downstream integration touchpoints.
    • Supports IFS Consolidation for multi-entity reporting, intercompany eliminations, and management vs. statutory reporting.
    • Advises on IFS Finance configuration decisions with an understanding of downstream impact on reporting, compliance, and audit.
    • Ensures internal controls are maintained and strengthened as processes and configurations evolve.
    • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
    • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Closes current remediation items.
  • Creates documentation and training materials.
  • Serves as business liaison to the Business Transformation team.

  • CPA, CMA or IFS Practitioner certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with IFS ERP Finance modules  is required.
  • 10+ years of ERP Finance functional experience with at least 5 years in IFS is preferred.

  • Experience with IFS Cloud (2020 or later preferred); IFS Apps 9/10 accepted.
