The Lead Data Architect is responsible for developing a data architecture that defines the capabilities for data acquisition, integration, transformation, data-ops, governance, insights, and consumption of actionable data. This architecture will be in line with the overall data strategy established by the team. This Leader must have a comprehensive background including most aspects of system architecture, data modeling, data migration and management, security, application development, and other skills required to build, deliver, improve, maintain, and operate a comprehensive data environment. 

In accordance with our mission of transforming into an “insights driven organization”, the Data Architecture leader will support the IT organization by identifying data strategies with a focus on implementing innovative data architectures and integration methodologies. The Leader will advise and inform the IT leadership team of technology solutions that can best maximize business value and establish the strategic data frameworks for success. 


What you’ll do

  • Align enterprise data architecture with business and technology strategy and roadmaps and effectively communicating to business and technical partners across senior levels of the organization 
  • Define and evangelize the adoption of Data Architecture capabilities and standards and build architectural data processes that create repeatable and reusable capabilities to transform how the company collects, curates and consumes data 
  • Create strategic, adaptive software architectures and frameworks that expose data to appropriate stakeholders and digital services 
  • Define, design and document data services, interfaces, and data flows with big picture awareness across the enterprise 
  • Collaborate with business and IT partners and various practice teams to define transitional and target state data architectures 
  • Pragmatically implement data architecture principles, standards, patterns and frameworks using established Enterprise Architecture governance processes 
  • Collaborate, educate, and mentor architects and technical leaders across the firm on modern data architecture practices 
  • Collaborate within the enterprise systems and services team to incorporate modernizing data governance, metadata management, and data quality into our architectural approaches and patterns 
  • Capture, design and publish integrative and canonical views of enterprise data at multiple levels of abstraction 
  • Manage a wide range of overlapping projects, set budgets, schedules and milestones for the data team to meet aggressive business deliverables in a timely fashion. 
  • Build internal expertise in cloud architectures, data security, data lake and associated analytical tools or applications. 
  • Maintain a pulse on cutting-edge technologies and be open to aligning with the ever-changing data and technology landscape. 
  • Provide oversight / guidance related to data issues needing technical or systems expertise. 
  • Work with non-IT business units to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives. 
  • All other duties as assigned.  


What you’ll bring

  • Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in the field of Information Technology, Computer Science, MathematicsData Analytics or other technical fieldGraduate degree preferred. 
  • Experience: 15+ years of proven progressive experience in Data Engineering and Modeling using at least three various types of data technologies (RDMBS, NoSQL, Graph, Columnar, Document). 
  • 5+ years of experience with Cloud Databases, Snowflake, NoSQL Databases, Streaming Data preferably in the AWS Cloud environment.
  • 5+ years of practice experience in Domain-Driven Design, SOA, Data Management, Data Services and Platforms.
  • Advanced certifications in CloudBig Data to strategically position data as an enterprise asset and supporting ongoing insights adoption for an always freshforward-thinking operational mindset.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of data best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging data technologies along with their potential application to existing or future offerings.
  • Familiarity with cloud data encryption, tokenization to protect data at rest and in-motion.
  • Familiarity with modern AIML technologies to be able to connect the dots using various cloud native services
  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare data engineering environment strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medical and Pharmaceutical Claims adjudication processes strongly preferred. 
  • Deep understanding of standardization, integration and error handling with data integration processes.
  • Must be an evangelist to help Quantum Health become more sophisticated in its use of data and helping create a data-informed culture
  • Must be a thought-leader, change catalyst and outside the box thinker who consistently strives for best possible outcomes
  • Strong communication, mentoring / coaching skills and influencing/leadership skills.
  • Executive communication skills, ability to interact effectively with C-Suite level leadership
  • Strong listening and consultative skills and ability to negotiate and influence
  • Lead by example by pushing innovative solutions in the data & analytics space
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
