ProAg has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst Manager to join our team. The Business Analyst Manager leads a team of analysts to insure the team is conducting analysis, planning, requirements gathering and logical design of a software product by working with internal and external customers. You bring your capabilities as a manager in the Agile framework with a solid understanding of current products and technology to design and implement solutions to meet business needs. Reporting to the Director of IT Management Operations, you will help lead the team in successfully designing, negotiating, and implementing solutions to meet business needs.

This position will be in ProAg’s Maple Grove, MN office but may also qualify for a hybrid structure or one of our other office locations listed. (West Des Moines, Lenexa, KS, Amarillo TX, Fresno, CA)

In This Exciting Opportunity You Will:

  • Participate in or lead the development of best practices, project standards, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress.
    • Enforce and utilize project standards, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress.
    • Conduct program/project kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations.
    • Ensure that all project team members have the tools and project specific training required to perform effectively.
    • Monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify risks and issues. Facilitates the creation and execution of corresponding mitigation plans to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives.
    • Prioritize efforts for large projects and programs that will be broken down into multiple sub projects.
    • Demonstrate the ability to break down a complex task into components and document solution steps for the appropriate components at both the project and the program level.
    • Demonstrate the ability to fully understand business objectives and proposed solutions and able to provide insight and factual knowledge to guide decisions.
    • Effectively collaborate and communicate with others in the organization.
    • Answer customer questions in person and via phone on all company supported applications.
    • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Manage Business Systems Analyst I, II and III.
    • Creates and nurtures a performance-based culture that supports efforts to accomplish ProAg's mission and goals.
    • Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve any concerns, questions, or problems in which assistance is required.
    • Create systems to parallel overall business strategies.
    • Writes detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify applications.
    • Research issues and escalate to Director of Software Development as needed.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, BCIS or related fields or equivalent work related experience.
  • 5 years in relevant and progressive experience in a business analysis, product owner or related field
  • Minimum of two years of crop insurance or agricultural field experience preferred
  • Business Process Knowledge - ability to identify the related activities or tasks that are needed to produce a specific service or project and how a specific project impacts the overall program management of the business
    • Problem resolution - early identification of problems within the software development life cycle, the ability to identify and gather the critical resources needed to make a decision and the facilitation skills to bring the group to an overall consensus
    • Negotiation - extensive experience in working with peers and leaders in the organization to reach an understanding, resolve points of difference, or gain an advantage to satisfy a project or business need
    • Project Cost Management - experience creating, updating and reporting on the cost management components of a software development project throughout its life cycle
    • Project Management Tools - extensive knowledge in working with Microsoft Project, HP ALM or SharePoint
    • Project Planning - broad experience creating software project plans within different software methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum) and utilizing various project management tools
    • Project Issue/Risk Management - ability to identify issues/risks early in the project life cycle and facilitate the next steps to reduce or eliminate the issue/risk
    • Project Scope Management - an in depth understanding of the scope of a project and the ability to ensure that additional work is not added without going through a predefined approval process
    • Highly motivated, with the ability to work from high-level objectives and goals.
    • Must be able to quickly grasp new technological concepts and implement them.
    • Must have strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
    • Self-starter with strong attention to details.
    • Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
    • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written format with employees and the general public; to maintain confidentiality in daily operations; to conduct daily duties in a professional appearance and manner
    • Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment
    • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Possesses sound analytical skills, as well as strong decision-making and problem-solving aptitude
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy
    • Ability to be given direction once and apply logic in future tasks
    • Must be able to effectively and efficiently multi-task, set and shift priorities and adapt to change
    • Know when to ask questions or when to resolve on own Time management skills and project management skills are imperative
    • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills a must
    • Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy, US Department of Agriculture Risk Management Agency (RMA) guidelines, etc.
    • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to learn
    • Must be familiar with relational database concepts, and client-server concepts.

Colorado Pay Disclaimer: minimum of the range is $98,800 per year, subject to geographical adjustment contingent on location.
