WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Residential Treatment Specialist Manager (RTS Manager) is responsible for implementation of residential program operations, policy and procedure and for the planning, coordination, and implementation of support services for the residential department.  The Residential Treatment Specialist Manager is responsible for deployment of personnel in accordance with the program budget; supervising and providing leadership as needed to assure the integrity of the program, safety of clients and in support of employees. 

 

PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Personnel Development and Supervision

  • Oversees department personnel management processes pertaining to recruitment, selection, orientation, training, supervision and evaluation of residential department.
  • Develops and maintains residential staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage at all times 24/7.
  • Maintain residential operations on-site personnel records.
  • Manages up to four Residential Treatment Supervisors, RTS Staff; two van drives; and two recreational specialists.
  • Institutes corrective action when needed for any quality assurance issue.
  • Establishes staffing plan standards.
  • Establishes policies and procedures that provide the occasion for maximizing the safety and welfare of the residents, staff and visitors to the program.

Fiscal: 

  • Prepares or oversees residential operations timesheets and payroll.
  • Assists with Program A/P as needed.
  • Assists Director in preparation and maintenance of annual budget.

 

Service Delivery:

  • Oversees residential staff in conducting daily living activities of residents.
  • Supports residential staff when necessary in conducting daily living activities of residents.  
  • Maintains quality of care and delivery of services in accordance with regulation, accreditation, and or contracting entities.
  • Advises in the development and implementation of client intervention and behavior management methodologies in accordance with client need and program policy.

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Assists with Quality Assurance standards and practices, including quality assurance tracking systems for unit performance measures.
  • Assists in the development of and implementation of program policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and investigates all accidents/incident reports. 
  • Maintains quality of care consistent with or exceeding standards set by State of Washington regulations, and any other accrediting and/or contracting bodies.
  • Monitors the compilation and delineation of the program's Mission Outcome measures
  • Attends team review, managers meetings, all staff meetings and other internal and external meetings assigned as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Daily contact with clients, including some contact with those who may be angry, depressed, distraught or frustrated and/or under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
  • Duties require the use of standard office furniture and equipment (e.g., desk, filing cabinet, computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, etc.)  Ability to use MSWord, Excel Outlook, and/or PowerPoint.
  • Experience providing supervision/management.
  • Experience in a residential treatment environment

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED

  • High school graduate or General Education Diploma.
  • Must be able to obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor (WAC 246-810-015, and RCW 18.19.210) within 60-days from the date of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR certification before first independent shift.
  • 4 years’ experience providing supervision/management and direct client services in a behavioral health unit.
